Nice hotel near to domesitic airport. Has "ECOTEL" certification as environmentally friendly, something I appreciate. Very good service although a bit pricey.

"A great, clean and relaxing hotel within minutes of Mumbai's domestic terminal. Free pick up from the terminals and a great roof-top bar overlooking the airport"

"This hotel is beginning to look rather worn and dated and whilst some rooms are being renovated the other rooms are becoming smelly and rather scruffy. I stayed in two different rooms for a total of six days in June and both rooms smelt damp and musty. The corridors also had very worn carpets and again a strange smell. My clothes and luggage still smell after a week at home! I would not recommend this hotel and I would not stay there again even though the service and the coffee shop there are extremely good."

"Hotel is OK as such but overpriced. They provide FREE airport shuttles with air-conditioned small cars which is good - definitely MUCH better than the HORRIBLE non-airconditioned taxis available at Mumbai airport which are a total DISGRACE this being the FINANCIAL CAPITAL of INDIA!! Luzi Matzig"

"We had a truly wonderful stay at the Orchid Hotel and it's really quite hard to find faults with this excellent property. The service was attentive, courteous and helpful at all times. In fact, the staff really went out of their way to provide assistance, and always with a smile. It is so pleasing to find a hotel where the staff genuinely enjoy looking after their guests - we felt extremely well looked after throughout. The hotel lobby is stunning, with it's 70ft eco-friendly water feature and glass lifts. The breakfast was one of the best I've come across in terms of variety and quality. The business centre was also very clued up and efficient - they were able to provide me with a wireless internet card within minutes, and were on hand in case of any problems. The internet access isn't particular cheap (around Rs 300 for 4 hours), but the one that works in the lobby allows you to use the 4 hours over a period of 90 days, so if you're staying in the hotel for a few days and need to use it every now and then to pick up emails etc, the cost is fairly reasonable. The room we stayed in was spacious, modern and clean, with comfortable beds. The bathroom was also very clean and well maintained. I'd highly recommend the Vindhyas South Indian restaurant located within the hotel - whilst it's fairly expensive compared to restaurants outside the hotel, dinner here is a real treat, with attentive service and beautifully prepared and presented dishes, as well as live music. The only possible drawback is the location - the Orchid Hotel is located in Vile Parle (East), just a stone's throw from the domestic airport. Whilst this makes it convinent for the business traveller, getting to the city centre can take up to 1 hour, due to the gridlocked traffic that Mumbai suffers from almost round the clock. But despite this, we would still love to stay at the Orchid Hotel again and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Mumbai. The hotel is not too far from Juhu beach, and the Mumabi suburbs of Andheri and Santacruz, so there's plenty to do and see in the vicinity."
