This hotel is a relic of the 1970's and hasn't had any redecoration since then. The value for your money is however OK and there are buses that drop you round the corner at the airport. The service is very pushy with staff hanging around for a tip that they feel is compulsory and deserved which engenders the opposite reaction. Shops and restaurants are useful especially if you want to pick something up that you forgot to buy in the City.

| "After excellent stays at other hotels booked through Asia Rooms, I was extremely disappointed by this hotel. It bore no relation to the online description. A crumbling facade by day and the fact that only 5 of the neon letters of the roof sign 'CENTAUR HOTEL' are lit by night give a poor first impression. I chose this hotel to relax by the pool after my Indian holiday and before my flight home. The Health Club was 'closed for renovation' though no work was observed. The pool was drained and both the pool and tennis court were derelict and in my view had not been used for months if not years. The childrens play area consisted of rusty swings/slides etc. There were piles of rubble around the gardens.
In the reception area, the numerous defunct light bulbs made for a dark environment which masked the shabby condition of the furniture. None of the hotel shops were open throughout our stay and two had signs appologising for being closed through non payment of bills. My wife and I took 3 meals in the hotel's main restaurant and were the only customers for two of the meals. We were joined by an aircrew for the third meal. The food was average at best. We saw no customers in the hotel's other 2 restaurants throughout our stay.
The room was spacious but showing signs of age. Not all the electric plugs worked. The electricity in the hotel kept constantly failing. Each time it was restored, all the lights in the room came on which was annoying in the night.
On the plus side, the lack of clients meant that we could check in early at 0830 and the courtesy transport to the airport was a bonus. The staff were very helpful throughout.
In summary, I believe this hotel needs a major injection of capital if it is to again become the 5 star hotel it is purported to be. It needs an urgent review by Asia Rooms as I believe it is only 2 star. The lack of amenities mean it would only be suitable for people needing a bed close to the airport. At £140 for the night this was not good value." |

| "This was the worst hotel in which I have stayed in India. The service was appalling and the staff were rude and unhelpful. I stayed here because I thought it would be convenient given that it is so close to the airport but there did not appear to be any signs pointing to the hotel from the airport and none of the airport staff or taxi drivers knew where it was. I also had difficulty getting the hotel to organise airport pickup. This meant that the difficulties associated in getting there cancelled out any convenience. " |

| "Considering the very bad reviews, I must say I wondered if I had made the right choice to stay at Centaur, even if only for one short night in January! I however remembered a positive experience several years ago, and decided to go ahead and see, considering its location close to the airport.
I was rather pleasantly surprised. The room was not luxurious, but it was clean (my bed was 100% clean and fresh). It was quiet, which is quite amazing, considering how close it is to the airport. And very friendly reception desk.
Sure, the lobby is not attractive, there are better places where to eat, etc. - but for people in need of a room close to the airport, not a bad option - provided one can find a special rate.
Moreover, good news: they are in the process of renovating the hotel entirely (which means it may not be advisable to stay there during day time at this point...). "Long overdue", a staff member acknowledged to me smilingly. So I suggest to see what the new hotel will be like. Certainly not the most attractive hotel in Delhi, but a convenient one for people in need to stay close to the airport." |

| "The hotel has a perfect location for travellers who continue their flight the next day, but it was very disappointing. Firstly, it is in extremely bad repair. Bedrooms and bathrooms not clean enough, and walls and doors peeling and dirty. It cerainly was not worth the 211 dollars we paid for a few hours' stay. On the internet site where we booked our stay it did not say the hotel was under repair (workers are making noise until 11 pm...). I hope you should add to the internet site that the hotel is currently under remodelling, which would be fair to innocent travellers. " |

| "We had a booking for two days. However the service was so bad, the ambience absolutely terrible.
So we moved out the next day.
