"travancore was perfectly places nt too far away from the tenerife style tourist belt of kovalam so it was always accessible if you wanted a bit of noise but also away from it on a real fishing communities beach - perfect to watch locals out at see. the views from the balcony rooms are stunning, the private beac is very good and the room was a great size. staff whilst friendly are pretty slow overall - i particulalry struggled with the restaurant staff. the ayurveda centre was more of a treatment centre than a massage centre and was very good"

"A bit far from the popular Kovalam beach, but a stunning hill-top site with good sea views and beautiful landscaped gardens. Very scenic and good for reasonably priced Aruvedic treatments. Overall, very good value, but very little of interest nearby outside the site. "

"Facilities, location and cleanliness of the hotel was very good. The staff were very helpful and efficient. I especially like the Tip Box. If I had to tip each member of staff, I would not have tipped so much. Having a tip box made me judge the overall staff responses and when leaving I made sure I dug deeper into my pocket. The only issue I had is the cost of drinks, food and excursions. They were far higher than expected. It was much cheaper to take a cab to Kovalam and eat. Transport on excursions was almost double and most hotels have a free shuttle bus to the nearest town, in this case, Kovalam. The prices of drinks were far beyond the prices in London and I feel the hotel is taking advantage of it's secluded location and foreign tourists. As a suggestion, I would recommend a happy hour where between say 5:00pm and 7:00pm, the drinks were half price. This is a quiet time of the day and a chance to bring in more people to the restaurant for a few drinks. They would then be more likely to stay for dinner. I would stay again but, would organise my own transport and food. The clientele you and bringing are some working and middle class tourists so they will be looking at cost of extras. If you were a 5 star deluxe, you would attract the high class top end and would not worry about costs so look at the type of clientele and price up accordingly. You will receive a lot more business. "Better choose the rooms with ensuite bath rather than the open-air attached ones, unless you do not mind the company of insects and occasional frog. The hotel is alright for a 3-star resort, but the price shuold be about 20% less, considering the very simpple facilities and absence of a private beach. The remote locaton of the hotel makes it difficult for moving about. the prices for dialy car rentals ad tours are expensive. I think the hotel should offer free shuttle service to town and airport and tours at reasonable rates. The hotel shuold also make some in-house activities for guests, you can nto go out. Inspite of the baove, it is a suitable hotel for a few days away from it all."
