This stay at Clarks Varanasi was wonderful. The staff was VERY efficient and smiling, the room nice and clean. The location of the hotel in a beautifully manicured garden with a nice pool makes it a good place to chill out from the busy town. One more thing : I had one of my best Thali in India at their restaurant, and the mutton biryani was, for sure, the best I've ever tasted in my long experience of food in India!

| "The service was good.
The Food was highly overpriced for the amount and what you get and the quality was okay but certainly not the best. The room service was okay but finer dining not as good.
The stores were rarely open.
The rooms were equal to two star in USA
The hotel itself staff was nice and friendly.
The rooms seemed clean.

| "The worst hotel we have ever stayed in, the damp smell when you enter the hotel is only the start. Lack of hot water, which was only available when we rang reception to complain every time. Restaurant was cold and food inedible. Tours arranged through the hotel miraculously cost a lot more with added 'extras' when we got the final bill, which were slightly reduced when we argued over the bill for some time. Misleading statements about the tours from reception staff also. " |

| "No doubt this was a high class hotel in the far past. Now however, this hotel is very neglected it need urgently to be renovated. The rate is half of the rates in the neighboring hotels Ramada and Raddison but if I would have known about those two I would have booked there in spite of the double rate.
