"very relaxing staff excellent but bathrooms in the garden rooms need maintance.
over all the hotel is tired and showing all of its age.
its main assets are the space and the staff.
we would return for another stay

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Grand Bali Beach. It is a very large hotel with a tower block, 2 storey Garden Rooms & cottages.
We stayed in a ground floor garden room. It was large, clean & well decorated. Built around 40 years ago, the room was a little dated in such as bathroom fittings and could do with an upgrade.
The grounds are extensive, a large garden, 3 pools and right on the beach.
The buffet breakfast in the Tower was a little crowded, but they then opened an alternative in the cottage area which was good. Warm breakfast food was mainy Asian, but you get eggs cooked fresh & can order bacon. There was usually potatoes or sausages on the buffet.
A short walk will take you to many restaurants on the beach front.
Night life is pretty laid back, but you can get some sort of live music every night. The Arena Pub (next to MacDonalds) & Jazz Cafe (next to KFC) both had bands on and a walk or taxi down the main street will take you to lots of restaurants & bars, some with music or sports. By 1 o'clock most places are closed.
All in all a great place for a relaxing laid back holiday - if you want excitment stay in Kuta!!"

"Great service, Good location if you like Sanur, with great gardens. We stayed in garden wing--weary rooms, need work. But overall not bad for the price and we'd consider staying htere again. Was fully booked most of our stay - predominately tourist from java and other asian countries - lots of tour groups. Would probably stay there again, maybe try Tower room next time as those rooms are newer."

"The Tower Room was in need of TLC with years of wear'n'tear evident, particularly in the bathroom.
A major overhaul of the rooms needs to be undertaken in the very near future to guarantee the future of the hotel.
The hotel staff were all very helpful and attentive, and the buffet breakfast was well catered.
The proximity to Sanur Beach, markets and shops was a major bonus for the hotel."

"The hotel was not what i expected it needs a lot of maintenance.
The first room they put us in had no hot water the aircon didnt work and water running down the wall. They quite happily moved my wife and myself but the next room was mediocre.
Then when we were checking out the door fell off the fridge so that was different.
if they kept on top of the maintenance it may be ok as rite on the beach. but to stay there again i would think twice"

Comments: We stayed here for one week and were REALLY disappointed. This is a five star hotel, but to me it was more like a 3 star. The hotel is old and in my opinion very run down. The room was not clean, we had several problems with the light and TV in our room. We called the reception several times before someone finally came up to the room and fixed it! It felt like the staff were nice because they had to, it was not genuine at all. Everytime we came to the reception we felt as if we were a burden(absolutely not ok in a five star hotel)We stayed in different hotels during our trip to Asia, both one star and five star, and this was by far the worst. I would never go back here. The pool area was also really boring and not cosy at all, I thought that in a good hotel at least they would try to make it look nice...The SPA was also a disappointment, we had been to SPAs in Java and it is impossible to compare with this, noisy, unwelcoming SPA.It was just by the pool and there were people outside the "treatment" room talking loudly, tour groups etc..I did not feel like I had a calm SPA experience. It was more stressing than relaxing. The breakfast was also poor, there was a lot to choose from but again, I had much higher expectations on a five star hotel.
We would definitely book via Asiarooms.com again, all the other hotels were great, but we wouold never go back to this hotel. I think someone should review this hotel and give it the status it really deserves, a three star hotel(we shuold also pay like for a three star then people would not get disappointed). Our holiday overall was great and I would definitely recommend Asiarooms to all my friends!
