"Our stay in the Mentari was lovely, It was a private location in a quiet area not far from the beach. The pool area was great for chilling out, the staff were friendly & helpful & service good.
An older style small hotel but for the price was very good.
We are planning to go back next year."

"excellent service from airport pickup to return to airport, the staff were great and considered all our needs, they were polite, efficient and very caring to all our needs. Everythink from start to finish was perfect, the staff moved us from our room as they felt the aircon was not working as efficiently as it could, we had not noticed any difference but they had.
Every morning smiling faces greeted you at breakfast regardless of the rain. They have nothing but ask for nothing they really make you feel humble. We really enjoyed our experience here which was our second visit and we would go again at the drop of a hat."

"Hotel is old, the lowest among the hotels where we stayed.
Equipment, AC are rusty and out of age, the "king size" bed is made from 2 beds juxtaposed.
The hotel is built around a garden in T, the pool is at the junction. Garden rooms are located in the vertical portion of the T, there is no need to rent more expensive room overlooking pool.
Finally, there was a building under construction behind the hotel but problem with noise...
The pictures do not represent the reality.
Side site, no interest, there's nothing to see, the beach is far and no interest. You'd better go to Kuta, Dempassar or further north towards Amed.
Many other places so much more beautyfull and interesting to visit.

"Some workers were fixing the roof and reception hall during our stay, which excepted of the first night did not bother us at all.
On first night we were given a room very close to this reception hall, so we were woken up by workers the next day at about 6.30am.
We asked for a more quiet room and ended up being upgraded to a "swiming-pool view" room at second floor on the opposite site of the hotel, which was perfect.
Excepted of that little incident on first night, we enjoyed a lot our stay ( 4 nights in total).
Staff was friendly and helpful, american breakfast was rather copious and we enjoyed a lot the nice swimming pool.

Would I stay at this location again: Probably not
Comments: We only stayed at the Mentari Hotel for one night and arrived at 10.30 pm so we didn't really get to experience it properly.
However the staff were welcoming and helpful and the room was large and clean, if a little bare. The pool looked nice although a bit cramped.
Breakfast was nice - you could have the standard nasi goreng (fried rice) or mie goreng (noodles) or order a western breakfast of eggs, bacon etc.
It is located in the north of Sanur so not that near all the main restaurants and shops, however it was very convenient for us as we were getting the boat to Nusa Lembongan which leaves from a hotel which is practically next door.
My only reservation about the hotel is the fact that there is a lot of vegetation. While this looks nice it is a bit of a magnet for mosquitos.
