I stayed at the Balisani Padma from July 15th to 23rd 2007 and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The hotel grounds are well maintained and staff extremely friendly and will do anything to help you.
The hotel is located in quieter Legian and only a 5 min walk from the beach. I noticed that there were some comments on other reviews re people pestering them to sell them massages and souvenirs near the hotel / beach area. After travelling all over Bali this happens everywhere so dont let it put you off, its part of the charm of Bali and if you really dont want anything a firm and polite 'no thank you' especially if you say it in Balinese is enough.
The rooms are slightly aged and could do with some maintenance but kept clean. Fridge, TV and aircon were all older models but work well. For the accomodations rates -which include a decent breakfast - I thought the hotel was perfect and I had an idea of what to expect from the price. I would definitely stay at the Balisani Padma again.

"Room [ bungalow ] dark, dirty. Bathroom disgusting. Toilet ridiculously small, if you are big you will not be able to close the door. Front doors don't close properley creates mosquito problems. Staff friendly. Breakfast basic but adequate. Only about 4 lounges around the pool."

"We stayed in Balisani Padma hotel in April so hotel was very quiet. For us in very convenient location, about 400 m to sea, close to shops and restaurants, but not in a noisy part of Kuta. Hotel with atmosphere - nice pool, gardens, friendly staff and good cuisine. "

"The Hotel is very basic traditional style accomodation, having said that the rooms are airconditioned and clean. The location is not on the beach however it is in the middle of lots of restaurants and shops and a short walk to the beach. The hotel pool is good with a swim up bar, and the breakfast which is included in the room rate is very good. The hotel also has inhouse massage near the pool area and the massages are fantastic. I would not bother to eat at the hotel restaurant for lunch or dinner and the cocktails at the bar are not recomended for taste. Overall the hotel is very good value."
