4/5  Posted by Zack, Singapore in April 2008
"We stayed 5 nights in Blue Point Bay in an ocean front villa after upgrading our previously booked garden villa upon arrival. The place, we were told, was originally a restaurant and a gathering point for surfers which then was expanded into a villa hotel 6 years ago. Location: This hotel is a stand alone resort on top of a romantic cliff in the rather isolated Uluwatu area. Surrounded by many Bali-typical home stay pensions and surfer bays, Blue Point is good for a silent and peaceful stay for people seeking a relaxing holiday with friendly and good service. There are no construction sites nearby, which is rare in Bali nowadays. Nearest town Jimbaran can be reached by hotel shuttle (when available) after a bumpy ride in 35 mins. Nearby lies the wonderful Uluwatu temple with a famous local dance (chaka-chaka) which is a must see in Bali. Rooms: Rooms are extremely spacious, though the space at hand is not used optimal by the architects. 2-Floor garden villas have the bedroom and bathroom downstairs with a completely empty space upstairs. Furniture is too simple and worn-out. For the price we would expect better design and quality of room interior. In every room there are a number of mosquito repellents installed with a strong fragrance that somewhat disturbs. Our sea front villa was more of a sea front "palace" with 2 huge bedrooms, two huge bathrooms and a panorama glass front living room and private pool. It all sounds incredible, with the one draw back that the interior is not what we expected in terms of convenience and quality. Here again a lot of empty space without reason and old looking furniture. After relaxing a couple of days and switching the mind off from work life, everything looks and feels better though. Value: Bali is an expensive place if you are looking for something special. In this regard Blue Point was good value for us. There are definitely more convenient hotels around Bali if you are more of a mainstream experience seeker. "

"I stay at Blue Point Bay from 6-9th Oct, 07 at the 2 story villa. First of all, the hotel is so remote that customer can only take hotel car which is more expensive for travelling the city. Besides, the hotel is doing one-two wedding in their hotel chapel and blocking all main entrance for hotel customer for few hours a day. This is very inconvenince for hotel customers to walk back to our villa through alley instead of main entrance. The hotel has only one very small resturant and is not easy to get table if the wedding dinner is also held in the hotel. The room is so small that only has one chair not even a 2 seater sofa. The roof is nearly empty but a coffee table and 2 chairs The pool is so deep that young kid can not be with fun at all particularly there is no life guard provided. Overall, I am not recommending this hotel to anyone as this is not a value for money at all."

"The view is fantastic...Great sunset at the swimming pool! It's very good for surf travelers. If you are going with someone that's not a surfer make sure you not stay to long. It's a very isolated location, not conveniant for shoppers at all."

"Perhaps it's too isolated,it's great for those who want to enjoy private moments.I can't be more satisfied with the wonderful view and the beach for surfers right down th cliff."

"This hotel is too isolated and you should suggest they have a free shuttle to reach Jimbaran"
