Would I stay at this location
again:

Most likely
This is a wonderful newly built hotel with first class facilities, wonderful service at a very competitive price. The restaurants, the spa, the pools, the beach and the staff were wonderful. However we do have one major criticism. My wife and I used the walkway anong the beach each morning. We were amazed to see the dirt and squalor of some of the surrounding area. This is a poor location for a five star hotel. The area further down the beach where the majority of the big hotel names were located was much superior. For this reason we would probably change hotel if we were to revisit this region. A smaller but important point was the uniform worn by the staff . We thought it was too casual in style especially in the restaurant and reception area. In contrast the uniform worn by the staff in the Spice restaurant was elegant.

"We had a wonderful stay at the Conrad. We checked in late and were upgraded to a fantastic suite. I didn't want to leave the room, but did for the delicious breakfast. The spa was also very soothing. The much acclaimed 'Spice' restaurant was not all that fabulous, I highly recommend the nearby Bumbu Bali, which serves Indonesian cuisine in a charming atmosphere. They even have a shuttle to pick you up. Service was 'Balinese' (read laid back) but they did their best. The ocean is nothing to speak of, but the pools are nice. I would have liked a night spot to go for drinks and minging, but one can't have everything. Good for a retreat to be with your friends or lover. "

"it is absolutely beautiful property, with an amazing veiw from the lobby.food was very very good at the restaurants-the east, 8 degrees south and suku but a very below average breakfast. rooms were good, but they lacked basic things like no dental kit, no shaving kit in the bathrooms. also their room service is pretty bad, i asked for water, it did not come for an hr, had to call again. also the housekeeping and room service dint pick up phones and were slow in responding. and there is no differnce i ocean veiw and regular rooms "

"How can you fault a Conrad Hotel? well you can fault this one. It's a fine hotel in many ways and I was pleased with the price per night through asiarooms. however, once there, be prepared for international prices in this third world country. and don't expect to walk outside and eat at the competition. bali lacks the entrepreneurs you would get in the likes of phuket and why no one has set up a decent restaurant opposite the hotel is anyone's guess. Want to check your email to see if your auntie annie has email you? well, go to the business centre and be charged business prices. alternatively, walk outside and you have a few kilometers to walk to a dirty little internet cafe. (and watch out for the holes in the pavement) The breakfast was not very good. The Sofitels in thailand are much better. I never ate dinner there, preferring to get a taxi into town, about 20 mins away. The taxi drivers have obviously been told not to verbally hassle you offering tours the following day, but only some follow orders. It can be a long 20 mins trapped in a taxi. I had to go against the signs to find my room. The signs for reception etc are terrible. For some reason we had to wait about 30 minutes for our taxi back to the airport whilst about 5 service staff waited around at the front door. too many people! each thought the other had booked the taxi. Why no shuttle service anyway? The beach the hotel sits on is a joke. Don't try to swim there. the sand is a very poor relation to the white powdery stuff that you perhaps go to Bali for. And don't expect much when your poolside smoothie drink appears ...considering you've just spent in excess of a Bali day's wage on that one drink. Well, they don't exactly have to try..there's sod all in the way of competition around...."

"I would ask beach staff to stop pissing on the beach. It is quite embarassing for women who is sunbathing. Should built toilet for its staff on beach."
