When we 1st booked the hotel,we were lil wary bout the reviews that was said in the testimonials & decided to change hotels but none of the other hotels were available so we thought,we wouldnt expect the best. But upon arrival late evening, all the standard rooms were booked so we were upgraded to the cottages, which was such a pleasant surprise. The cottages were spacious & rustic. The hotel might need some touching up here & there but overrall its the lil things that made it "rustic"..The staffs were helpful & extremely friendly. The location is terrific..as its smacked right in the middle of Legion Street..walk to the right to get to the beach ( bout 10-15mins walk )..and to the left into Kuta area & the infamous Warung Made.So you dont really need to even take a cab into the town area. You can even find the pharmacies & convenience stores just opposite the hotel and clubs just down the streets if you're a party goer.Everything can be found along the street, restaurants, pubs, cafe's etc.. so i'd say location is simply perfect & terrific if you want to be in the middle of everything.
Breakfast wasn't elaborate but it was just nice. Its like a hotel where you get what you pay for.The swimming pool should be cleaned more frequently as some hotel occupants can be inconsiderate & dirty the pool with empty beer bottles.Perhaps the hotels should be more strict towards some of the guests as our 1st night sleep was disrupted by noisy occupants that were drinking making a lot of noise by the pool area.
Only thing that the hotel should consider "fixing" is changing new beds as ours is way too soft and perhaps a lil more upkeep in the open air bathroom thats in the cottages.Air con works fine in the room eventhough we read some reviews that it wasnt working well etc.We had our own portable kettle to make coffee/tea as the hotel doesnt provide the facilities nor a mini bar.
The cottages would be a good place to stay for romantic couples as you have your own privacy in your lil secluded "space".We even read in reviews that people harass you in front of the hotel for drugs, which we found out it isnt true. The only thing bout the trip that gets on our nerves is,because you'll be stayin in a busy street, you'll be harassed by sellers all the time when you head out or heading back to the hotel. The is no eerie feeling walking back to your room/cottages even though its a lil dark during the nites. So at the end of the day,we enjoyed our stay more than we expected eventhough we were turned off by the bad reviews before. It turned out far better than we pictured it to be.
We will definately stay in this hotel again only if we can book the cottages, worth every cent.It was our 2nd time in Bali and this hotel definately has a better value for money than the more expensive one we booked on our 1st trip.

| "It was a nice enough hotel, with a fantastic breakfast included and a nice garden setting. The bathrooms were particularly unique. However it was pretty noisy with roosters in the morning and kids by the pool. When you are on vacation you don't always want to be woken at 4am by non-stop poultry calls." |

| "I have stayedin a couple of hotels in Bali previously at the same price as the legian express that were rated lower with asia roms. I thought that this would be at least to the same standard but was greatly disappointed. The grounds were very nice, the building was shabby, our toilet seat was held together with duck tape, and the staff were very reluctant to give more than 1 toilet roll a week!! I would definately stay somewhere else next time." |

| "The hotel is very old and very badly maintained. Very dirty, from towels to bed sheets to pillows the bathroom
is falling apart you cant get hot water all the time, this place should not be operating. I will never stay at this hotel again. It was a shock and made my holiday not very good. " |

| "Strategic location. Kuta Beach, restaurants , cafe and shops are within the walking distance. The services provided is good.
We are staying in a superior room. The room was seems like lacked of maintenance. Aircon is located far away from bed. Furthermore, there were dozens of mosquitoes in the room. Had a sleepless night due to too warm and the irritating mosquitoes. The volume of water shower is extreme small. The water is not warm neither" |

| "Overall the hotel is best suited for budget travellers due to its affordable room rates, close proximity with the shops, restaurants, nightlife outlets. The only problem is traffic jams in front of the hotel which is noisy and dusty. Food wise ok only not much varieties to choose from. " |
