Travelling couple with 15 month old girl.
This place is made up out of 2 store bungalow. We had the top floor. There is a nice swimming pool and the service is great. Eg free tea every morning. The location is very good, coming out the front you are in town, going out the back the same and close to the monkey forest. The garden is very nice and there is a rice field in it as well. We saw the harvest straight from our balkony (large).
Draw backs were:
- the bathroom, shower, sink and toilet in one, so after shower all is wet. No wiper available
- restaurant not good (but many others around)
- the garden has many steps, so for a baby that walks not so suitable

| "The location is absolutely fabulous. The bungalows are built on a slope. So one has a niece vieuw sitting on ones terrace. But it is not particularly convenient for seniors or if one has trouble with walking. The overvieuw describes that the rooms are well decorated and that the bathrooms are equipped with high-quality toiletries. We certainly don't agree with that. The rooms are neat but simple decorated and the bathroom was provided with one single bathtowel per person. What we were also not pleased with is that on arrival in the evening the light from the terrace was not working what made it difficult to find the keyhole in the entrancedoor. Whereas the employee who brought us to our room had noticed this we assumed that this should be fixed the next day, but we had to ask for it and it lasted till the third day of our stay before it was done. What we found disturbing too was that on the first morning we had our breakfast in the eatery we saw two rats coming from behind the ceiling to collect their meal from the little offerings that were placed on a shelf that was attached high on the wall. This year was the 3rd year we had a stay in Ubud but we surely had better hotels before in this pricerange.

"The hotel is good, with good facilities. There is only one important notice: when you have a little handicap you wil have troubles because the comples has been builden on a hill with many, many, may stairs. Dangerous for children! And when you can not walk good you also have a big problem!"

"In a good location, however room was very dirty and had no hot water. We had a superior room that was supposed to come with hot water and aircon however after complaining twice in 24hrs about no hot water we were told we could move to another nicer (cleaner) room. So we started packing. Then two men came down and fixed the hot water and said no need to move. So we had to stay in the dirty room. Sheets dirty, bathroom filthy, accidently bumped against wall while showering and left a big white streak where my arm had wiped off scum. Most staff were very nice. Aircon worked well. Breakfast small and not much choice. Bit of a walk from reception to room past rice fields. Nice view and we were lucky enough to have the fields harvested during our stay. Would not stay here again, could get a lot better value for money."

"You get what you pay for. Breakfast and location was ok. Hard to get towels and lots of flies outside our room - not sure why? Just donŽt expect much and youŽll be fine."

"We stayed at Nicks for 5 nights and found it very pleasant, the rooms were large and clean and the air conditioner worked well, views are stunning in tranquil surrounds. The only complaints are that towels were not very clean and some days there were not any in the room, the restaurant was awful and we stayed away from breakfast even though it was free. I do not recommend this place to elderly people or anyone who has troubles with walking as there are alot of steps to the pool and to Monkey Forest Road, for everyone else I highly recommend it. "
