| "We were suprised with the proximity between the airport and the resort, we could see planes landing from the swimming pool. We rented a car for the duration of our stay, hence it made accessibility easier and allows us a lot flexibility in terms of our time, otherwise, you would have to depend on the resort's transport or taxi. We like the seclusion but also the easy 5 min drive to Kuta. Anyway, the car rental is pretty cheap... only USD 85.00 for 4 days.
We were lost on the 1st night as the all chalets / rooms and landscaping looks alike. It took us a bit to find our room.
The room is quite confortable with the bathroom overlooking into the covered courtyard... a typical balinese concept. It would be great if they provide additional pillows as the 2 allocated pillows are too soft.
My husband misplaced his wallet on the 2nd day and reported to the front office. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. Luckily we found the wallet with everything intact the next day.
We are very pleased with our decision to stay at PATRA BALI " |

| "Hi
I initially booked the hotel for 2 nights however ended up staying 5 and then in a week after coming back from lombok for another 7 nights as I have negotiated an upgrade from room to suite for no extra charge.
The resort is big and grandeur and feels rather like a golf cource with imposing buildings and extensive greens. Breakfast buffet was included in to the package and catered for different tastes - europian/ozzy, american or asian with fresh fruits and nice choice of pastries.
3 pools made a diffrence either.
Location is its special feature. On one hand it is a bit further from the Kuta center, but on the other it is really secluded and private away from crowds and hussle. Very close to the airport - 12,000 RP or 2 USD by taxi meterand similar charge to Kuta center. To get a taxi is as easy as to get a good suntan - just call the reception and wait 5 mts max.
Very good spa/massage though a bit costly by local standards - 30 AUD for 1h 15min.
All purfffecct." |

| "Hotel was very convenient for us as if was close to the airport and we only stayed 1 night as we could not make the onward flight to Lombok. The hotel was very quite with no many guest but we were very impressed with the 2 triple rooms we had. Very large rooms with large bathrooms. Nice bungalows set in beautiful gardens. This was definately value for money. The only thing we were not impressed with was the buffet meal at the pool. Not a large selection available for the money." |

| "The place is beautiful. The environment is scenic with lush greenery especially also since we had a room near the sea. The decon in the room is beautiful too.
The cleanliness of the place is good, even the common restrooms were very clean. They provide professional standars of service.
A really good place to retreat as the atmosphere is tranquil.

| "We stayed at the Patra Bali for 10 nights in July. I originally only booked it for 3 nights but then extended for an additional 7 nights when we realised what fantastic value it was. We have been to Bali 6 times before and have stayed at various places, the last couple of times being the Grand Hyatt in Nusa Dua. Whilst this hotel is not up to the standard of the 5 star there were some things that made it more attractive than the Grand Hyatt.
1. Price - Through Asiarooms.com we were able to get a price of US$56 per room per night inclusive of taxes and breakfast. This turned out to be unbelievable value. We have 2 children (aged 3 and 5) and therefore were able to get 2 rooms for less than the price of 1 room at the Grand Hyatt.
2. Location - The hotel is also ideally situated for walking to Waterbom, Discovery Shopping Mall and even Kuta. We enjoyed the Italian restaurant in the hotel but given its central location we were also able to enjoy various other restaurants all within walking distance. Located next to the airport we were surprised there wasn't more noise as a result of the planes. The noise was minimal and in fact, the kids enjoyed watching the planes coming in. We also loved the way the hotel is build in small cottages consisting of 4-6 rooms per cottage and the cottages are spread throughout the property. It's a nice change from a big hotel and it made it nice for the kids to run around the grass.
3. Facilities - The pools were great and well equipped for both children and adults. The children's club was absolutely fantastic. Large inside air conditioned space and large outdoor play area consisting of paddling pool, trampoline, swings and slide. This is by far the best kids club we have seen in Bali (much better than Grand Hyatt). The staff was also very nice and the kids actually asked if they could go there.
The only downside to the hotel is its lack of beach although we didn't find this a problem. They have constructed a small sandy area in front of the main pool which was sufficient for the kids to play in and if you really wanted to swim in the sea then you just had to walk 30 seconds out of the hotel and use the beach next door in front of the Bali Hai.
We also walked around various other hotels in this area and given that the Patra has just recently been renovated it was by far the nicest with the best facilities. We would definetely recommend it to other families with children or generally anyone looking for a nice hotel in a central location at an exceptionally reasonable price.
