Our stay at The Patra could have been better. The room lights were rather dim. The bathroom could be further improved in terms of water seeping from the shower during bathtime.
On one occasion, we had to walk back to our room which was far from the reception area as the buggies were all apparently being charged.
Room service leaves much to be desired in terms of food quality. Orders taken were wrong and it was a mighty long wait for the food!
The good thing about the hotel was its close proximity to the airport.

| "The beach around Tuban & Kuta is being reclaimed and constant noise from machinery drove us crazy. Got upgraded to the honeymoon villa that overlooks the small pool and almost beachfront. The villa was stunning but the noise was continuous almost 24/7, all day. Staff unconcerned and useless over our concerns of noise, avoid this place for at least next 6 months." |

| "Me and my friend arrived at the Patra on 16.10.2008 at about lunch time, knowing its not the official check in time we were prepared to just hang out at the lobby. But when we approached the reception, they informed us that not only was our room ready but our room have been upgraded to a deluxe suite. The porter was efficient and friendly, showed us to our room and brief us on the room facilities. We went swimming in the hotel pool in the afternoon, we loved the swimming pool cos it was huge - so both of us had our own space - as there was a few families with children also swimming.
The American breakfast in the morning was of normal hotel standards.
Called in for room service for our dinner on one of the evenings, there is a wide selection for the menu for room service.
Was supposed to check out on 19.10.2008 at 12.00 noon, our flight back was only at midnite, plus I had a very bad cold that day, I knew that week was a peak period cos Bali was hosting the Asian Beach Games, but I tried to request for a room extension or a room transfer for at least until late evening. The reception was very helpful and really tried to find another room for me, only that I had to wait a while for them to clean up the room. After lunch my room was ready. The reception also helped me get my flight confirmation cos I was unable to get through the airline directly. The hotel also arranged for my airport transfer. Its also a good location abt 10 minutes to airport, 10 minutes to Discovery Centre (Centro) etc. Was thoroughly happy with my stay. " |

| "The Patra hotel is a really beautiful place to stay, the hotel is located right next to the airport and is a fair walking distance away from the shops, but if you want to laze around the hotel for a few days then this is the place to stay, the hotel grounds are amazing. " |

| "Stayed at one of the villas in this very sparse resort. Service was abit slow and haughty probably due to the Hari Raya holidays period.
However, the room was excellent. We were treated to a 'honeymooners' room make-up with the bathtub and bed adorned with flowers. Its was also sparsely decorated and huge with dining area, TV lounging area, balconies and an excellent bathroom. However, my room's aircon was underpowered.
Facilities were not fantastic however, other than the rather pictureseque swimming pools and spa. The gym was rather small.
The included buffet breakfast was extensive with various ommeletes, some Japanese fare and we particularly liked the pastries.
Unfortunately, the beach was closed for some upgrading works which is expected to end by end-2008.
No matter, we took a shuttle bus to further North to the crowded Kuta beach and the famous shopping areas.
Very close proximity to the airport (we could see airplanes doing its landing sequence) but luckily was not overly noisy. The location was also at the far end of Kuta Beach, thus the relative quietness compared to main Kuta beach.
An excellent place for couples and families to stay within Kuta. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Patra Bali!" |

| "The Patra turned out to be an ideal hotel for us with two young children (4 & 2) The Club Villa was great.
Staff were excellent and facilities nice.
The beach sellers permanently based at the hotel are lovely and don't be put off - their prices are good and at times better than Kuta without the hassle.
Location close to airport is not a problem you won't even notice. Short taxi ride to the hustle and bustle but little else walking distance from hotel. You can walk along the beach into Kuta (~15 mins) but wouldn't try the roads.
Kids loved the kids club though outdoors would be too hot a lot of the time I think.
Didn't use the villa pool (for villa guests) as no children allowed - bummer - it was new and lovely and quiet (that's why I guess!)
Try the spa - very cheap and good for the price. Beach massage (sand, noise, people) vs spa experience for only a few dollars more. Regret I didn't use it more.
Food ok - coffee expensive (around AU$5) Strawberry milkshakes are recommended!" |
