| "A very nice hotel in a very peaceful area in lovely surroundings. We had a private plunge pool room which was clean and spacious, however in full view of all guests arriving and leaving the other rooms. The staff were more than happy to move us to a more private room and from there on we very much enjoyed our stay. It is a bit of a trip into Ubud and the shuttle has to be booked in advance, however we got the name of a driver in ubud and for a small fee he came and got us whenever we wanted. We stayed for 8 days and by the end found the menu in the restaurant to be a little unexciting but it was no trouble to go into Ubud and choose one of the may restaurants on offer. " |

| "we had a great time.it is located in the country side. was a bit difficult, in terms of tranport. otherwise, it was great. the restaurant seems average so we went out for dinner in ubud. there was some free coach service from the hotel. the hotel area was massive including waterfall nature pool!" |

Beautiful landscape and fantastic swimming pool.
Only deceptions are prices of SPA services and room 405 where noisy heater disturbs your night..." |

| "The place is not wheelchair friendly. It is great if you are travelling with a big family as the beds in the family room could accomodate about 6 pp. The rooms are very BIG. Having stayed at Coconut Homes before going Santi Mandela, it was a great disappointment. It is about half an hour's ride to the Ubud city area and I would prefer staying nearer to the city centre next time.
Some of the hotel staff were quite helpful. " |

| "The hotel was quiet and peacefull and out of the way. The staff were very friendly but the room was plain and dated. The view from the room and the pool was quite relaxing with all the greenery and the birds. You can go for a nice walk on the other side of the river all the way to the Bali Zoo, about 30mins walk, very nice to see how the local people live also. The center of Ubud is about 15mins away from hotel, and shuttle bus from hotel was very reliable." |

| "The hotel is about 15min. drive outside of Ubud. Completely quiet grounds. The rooms are great. We have the one by the waterfall #101 which I think is the best. The service was good. You can order room service any time of the day. The food was reasonably good. A wonderful clean freshwater pool to swim in. The spa offers great massages but not cheap though. If you are looking for peace and quiet and time to chill out, this worked for us." |

| "It is a quiet place with great scenery. The staff had big smiles and made you feel really important. Although it is very cheap, the service is no less professional than the big brands. Some villas have a pond filled with lotuses that you can see from the balcony, which is great. The balcony is generally the best place to relax.
The food is not very outstanding compared to its other merits. The resort is quite isolated, and some taxi drivers do not even know it. The shuttle service is not very often. If you plan to explore the culture of Ubud fully, it may not be ideal, but if you just want somewhere to relax and rejuvenate, it is the perfect place. " |

| "Santi Mandala was good value for money, and its grounds and rooms are quite pretty. The pool in the family villa was quite substantial and had good rustic views of the countryside. The staff were also friendly, and the hotel shuttle service was quite accomodating.
However the resort was much further away from Ubud than expected (a 20 min drive). The floor did not feel very clean, even after the staff had cleaned up. The water pressure in the bathroom was also erratic and was not fixed for the duration of our stay. " |

| "We stayed at Santi Mandala this month (Feb 08)It was fantastic! Fabulous location, we had a plunge pool villa. The room was huge with an amazing outdoor shower, outdoor spa bath, separate toilet. Beautiful yard, elaborate carved doors, gorgeous king size four poster bed with mosquito net. TV, CD player, tea coffee faciities. Amazing spa! We enjoyed a massage and it was followed up with a flower spa bath and tray of fruit and ginger tea. The facilities are fantastic. Staff bend over backwards to please you. It is a little out of the way so it is best to hire a motor bike or a driver if you want to go to town. They do have a bus but it doesn't run every hour so best to have your own transport. The resort is lovely, there is a temple in the grounds, horizon pool, umbrellas and deck chairs. I loved this place and can't wait to go back and see it again. It's website does not do it justice they are in the process of udpating it. It also has a waterfall on the premises and a river runs through the property and there are 3 geese that swim up and down and guard it! Lots of frogs and lizards can be seen as you walk through the grounds. Fantastic place!" |
