" A real standout! This hotel is stunning - the architecture and the furnishings make it one of a kind. The gardens are fabulous. The staff could not be more helpful or more interested in making your stay memorable. This was absolutely the best food we had during our stay on Bali. The dishes and their presentation - not to mention the extraordinary variety of the offerings - were conistently superb. We toured the property visiting every suite and each one was a stand out. Guests enjoy a complimentary afternoon tea each day with something like 10 or 12 delicious "sweet and salty" snacks - different ones each day. Tugu Bali is one of a kind!"

"I would recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't mind spending some money and values beauty, serenity and romance. Although, beware of the local fauna if you have an outdoor bath, such as in the Walter Spies Pavilion - you might get some intrepid visitors when the bath is refreshed and filled with water so that the staff can float exotic blooms on top, it is an exciting and convivial place for frogs and crabs - so watch your step."

" Ideal setting on a lovely black volcanic sand beach and beautiful Indonesian buildings make this hotel a unique and different Bali experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay but took full advantage of the special programmes the hotel arranges--Balinese handicraft class, an evening warang kulit performance, etc. There's even an option to get up at dawn and go to market with the hotel chef then return to the kitchen to make local specialties."
