The main reason we chose Ubud Village Hotel is due to its good location and we thought we could see padi field from the hotel. Unfortunately, we didn't see any padi field around there. I guess the pictures that they put in the hotel website is from Ubud Village Resort which is located further out of Monkey Forest Road. However, the location is great. The hotel is surrounded by nice cafes and there are plenty of shops nearby. Ubud Market is just a walking distance. The hotel is ran down, wall and pond are covered by green mould, quite old hotel. If you just need a place to rest and sleep, this hotel will do because it is a peaceful place.

"This hotel was surprisingly luxurious - in a private retreat kind of way - for such a cheap hotel. The large marble bathroom was outdoors but completely private. The staff were friendly and helpful for booking additional activities and drivers around Ubud. The location was PERFECT for being in the centre of Ubud, very short walking distance to shops, excellent restaurants and tourist attractions. Taxis were readily available at the front of the hotel."

"Sept 27-30 2008- 2 deluxe rooms for 2 adults and 3 kids(13,11,8). Loved the rooms - so much room, great air con, really private with the courtyard out the front, large bathroom, loved the small opening to the sky, slate floor, sunken bath as well as shower on the wall. Breakfast was good - they even made fried bread for the kids(french toast), scrambled eggs, omelletes whatever you wanted. The only down point was the kids toilet -flushing button was faulty and not fixed after asking-it wasted a lot of water but thats bali for you. Renovations at present but that didn't bother us at all - it was fascinating to see how they construct their buildings. As usual the staff are always lovely, the cocktails were cheap and the position is perfect for monkey forest and ubud markets. The 7eleven accross the road had everything as well as ATM. Baby Face restaurant was great. We would go back.Cheers! Too many steps for seniors with dodgy hips."

"The location of this hotel is fantastic. Right in the middle of Ubud. The room that we stayed in was not all that private. The floors were also very dirty. We could do with some indoor slippers so our feet weren't black from walking around. We could hear people next door when they were in their courtyards on either side. Staff were friendly. "

"This place was nice enough, however there was no internet access. The room was spacious and the bathroom outdoor concept was nice. The room we were in had a slightly damp feel to it, but perhaps it didnt get as much sun as other rooms. Either way, we enjoyed our stay, but for variety would pick somewhere different nect time. There are so many lovely places to stay in Ubud."
