"We booked the hotel thinking that we could walk to all the major shopping areas since it is supposed to be centered right in the city. Well, let just say that we have to take the taxi each time we go out-be it a 7 mins drive to Dago Street or a 15-20 mins ride to Paris Van Java. And, the hotel does not have any local map to offer, so, we are kinda lost figuring out our bearings. The buffet breakfast was nothing to shout about, and the bathroom is miserable for a supposedly 5 star hotel and the room is old. And for the price we paid-USD78 per night, we supposed other hotels with choice location is a better bet. Will probably not stay in this hotel again. "

"Like many Indonesian hotels, this one really needs to go through a thorough renovation. Looks like its stuck in some 80's time warp. Nevertheless very friendly & helpful staff and the decent cafe fare sat well with us. Liked the idea of the pool but it was small and more ornamental than utility. Disregarding the aging decor, room and bathroom were decent-sized. Would have appreciated more reading light and a clock in the room. Hotel location was more financial / business than touristic, with no shops in sight. "

"While the Reception Staff's grasp of English is somewhat basic, they are most attentive and friendly- I was welcomed with a cup of ginger tea! Facilities are fine and the breakfast selection is extensive for the western palate. The only drawback is the lack of carpeting in corridors which makes for 'tunnel noise'- I had noisy children playing outside the room and the sound was quite penetrating. Ask for a quiet room if such exists! The Lobby is large with secluded seating areas and there was a pianist in the evenings providing nice ambience. While not 5 star it is value for money and within walking distance of both the shopping malls and 'colourful' areas and restaurants in the other direction."

"Grand Preanger is a very stylefull bit with an atmosphere of the old colonial times. It has a beautifull big hall. The pool is good and so is the gym. The rooms are clean and of good size with a good bathroom. Tours can be booked from the hotel. The location is good. We, two adults and three children, enjoyed our stay here very much."

"Hotel is a little bit old and shabby. Bathroom can use an upgrade. Facilities are ok, and location is good as well, in town and close to railwaystation. Breakfast isn't too bad. Overall good value for money. "

"This hotel is a good one from which the city of Bandung can be enjoyed. The hotel offers travelers a quiet and comfortable respite from the traffic and noise of a large Indonesian city. The hotel has been around for a long time and has a wonderful art deco feel about it. Staff are very helpful and the rooms/bath rooms are well appointed and clean. The hotel has good facilities like a gift shop, bars, pool, and breakfast room. Food is acceptable. A tour company is located in the hotel complex from where arrangments can be made to visit the "local" volcano and its forest environment. "
