"The hotel is fine. No biggie. Just like any other hotel. It is a but frustrating that some hotel staff can't speak or understand english. Breakfast spread was international so there were some local dishes in the AM. Location is good as it's in the centre of whatever Batam has. I am upset with the trip only because Batam is boring. The 24hrs room services helped me pass some time there!! **LOL**"

"We enjoyed the stay very much. The rooms unexpectedly spacious, well decorated and furnished. Most importantly it is clean. The location are not too convienient, but taxi are always available. The only thing we are not happy about is that, thou we made reservations early but we still have to wait really long(2hrs) to get our room ready. With baby around, it is not really convenient.Other than that it was a memorable stay! My baby enjoyed it too..."

"Breakfast Buffet - We waited more than 20 minutes for our tables to be cleared and another 20 minutes for our forks and spoons despite repeated reminder. The food had ran out when it was only 9am and some stations closed but not made known customers. We later found out ourselves after a good 10 minutes of queuing. Service was slow. No way for us to come back to BATAM NOVOTEL."

"Fairly good location close to a couple of shopping malls, Taxi touts are pretty aggressive on the streets. Hotel food & drink are far too expensive as is the room’s mini bar all ++ 21%. Buffet breakfast is average not spectacular Mexican in the basement is pretty good, again far too expensive for average food..good happy hour but NO customers all night. Good first time but would not return to the hotel or Dirty Batam…be aware of visa on arrival $ 10 for 7 days $35 for longer Nagoya Hills shopping Mall is just around the corner (take taxi 20,000 rup) and pretty good "

"This hotel is nice but if you are booking superior room, remember to check in only at 2pm, coz we check in early and couldn't get the room and being offer to pay $20 more for executive room immediately and we took it. They say executive room will not had problem on immediate check in. 4 days before I check in this hotel I had wrote email wanting to check wiht this Hotel on the reservation confirmation and they didn't reply, so I call and they inform me my reservation is done but no payment from local agency to them yet, but they will chase the money from them. When I wrote to Asiaroom to check, they ask me not to worry and say that their local agent will pay according to the contract, and I am so worry... But when we check in the reception say it is ok, they will chase the money fm the agency as they already had my reservation number from this agency as proof... Overall experience is nice as we stay at Novotel before, bf is not fantistic taste as Holiday inn, but the spread is ok. The distance from this hotel to the malls such as Nagoya is reasonable, from hotel to Batam center is est $30k Rp if you burgain with the taxi driver, from 1 place to another, you start from $15k Rp, seem that all taxi driver expect you to pay for $20k Rp at least with every min distant... But later we knew that there is free shuttle transfer from Batam Center Mall to Novotel and Planet hotel and other hotels....and via to this Shopping Center as a free service by Batam Center Mall itself...abt 10-15min per interval it seem. And we found out that you can get better deal at the counter when you arrive Batam Center, but you risk the availability of rooms on that day...it is about S$25 cheaper with tax included....eg, if we book Novotel Hotel.. "

"Hotel location is good, short trip to all the major malls. Employees were very helpfu.The hotel needs renovation very badly. I could not believe that an Accor Hotel will put a torn down sofa in the guest room which should actually be in a garbage dump. Until they renovate, I would rather stay in a new 2-3 star hotel and feel good about paying half the price of what I paid for Novotel."
