| "Good hotel, great service from friendly staff. Facilities excellent (room, spa, gym). Top breakfast, which was included in room rate. Only 'fly in the ointment' is the price of drinks at the pool; very expensive, Rp65,000 (nearly $10)for an imported beer (bought quite a few before I realized the price hehe)." |

| "I have stayed at the shangri la in jakarta a few times now, my most recent being a 3 night stop in june 08. the shangri la used to be the best hotel in town, with the best facilities and breakfast!
i was left slightly disappointed by the experience this time. although the staff are very friendly (and i feel more sincere than in other hotels in jkt such as mulia, hyatt, marriott and ritz carlton) , i think the other hotels have left the shangri la slightly behind.
the room is much smaller than say the mulia, the same goes for the bathroom (although the products given as complimentary are a good quality)
also, it is worth noting that on my first day i spilt something on the bathroom floor, and the stain hadn't been cleaned for the duration of my stay.
also the breakfast i feel has gone down i quality . there is no longer a sushi bar, and juice is no longer bought to the table. furthermore, tea was only offered once...
the pool and facilities (spa and gym) are still lovely, however i feel for the same price (and sometimes cheaper depending on where you book) i think the mulia is better value

| "1. Room size and bed are so-so. Pillows below par.
2. Shower cubicle is too small.
3. Service was above average
4. Good range of restaurants. Tried Rosso, BATS, Satoo and Nadaman. Nadaman is expensive though.
5. Overall not particularly outstanding value." |

| "My experience at Shangri-La was very good. The rooms toilets etc were of a very good size. The security is tight and extends to everyone (including my friend who drove me to the hotel) which is actually quite good.
Breakfast was gastronomic as described by a few writers who provided their comments.
The only grouse was really just the location. Though you can see quite a few major shopping (thats if you want to shop) Getting there is quite a hassle. Try to take cabs provided by the hotel (a bit exp) but its still safer.
