| "A beautiful hotel with stunning views of paddy field and mountains. It takes 1 hour of bumpy ride to reach the hotel from Bangyuwangi town but definitely worth the effort. We did not have time to walk along the trail but I think it would be very interesting. The Ijen crater is one of highlight in Java trip." |

| "The views are splendid. The service is Ok. For payment with credit card Visa or Mastercard they added 2% to our bill. No way to discuss. The restaurant is good, but not cheap compared with other places in Indonesia and the road to go to this hotel is very difficult, certainly when it has rained. The hotel is surrounded by rice fields. they arrange transport to Ijen, what is worth the trip.
Sheets were humid, maybe some heating or drying system in the room would help to maintain the rooms dry. Sound isolation of the rooms is not good at all. Based on the price and the views on internet I expected more from this hotel, especially as comfort. Sleeping in humid sheets doesn't give a comfy feeling.
The people who cleaned the rooms did the best they could with that climate and a lot of insects." |

| "Stayed here with a friend in April 2005. As we drove from the main highway up to the hotel the road became increasingly narrow and rustic crossing thru several small village of a few huts with small children and old women waving at our van. I kept asking myself what could possibly be at the end of this road. But as we kept climbing past rice paddies at sunset, the wonderful modern hotel came into view. There couldn't possibly be a more wonderful location in all of asia - even better than Bali which was much more congested. The hotel sits on the crest of a hill overlooking rice fields in three directions and a volcano in the other. The rooms were in small villas throughout the compound with wonderful, private outdoor shower spaces for each room (open to the sky but surrounded by tall walls). The main hotel building included an open air terrace restaurant with full view of the rice paddies and volano beyond. FANTASTIC view and overall very friendly service and good food - not gourment, but very good." |
