We stayed in the Sea View Cottage, an absolutely must. This was one of our most romantic cottage of our vacation. A great cottage on the water with a beautiful view and a breath taking sunset. Breakfast is on a boat with a nice buffet. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Outside the hotel it is not a very modern city but the food (especially fish) of the restaurants is very good.

| "I only slept there, most of the days I was away.
Marvellous placement between Fort Rotterdam and Pantai Losari, with many of the rooms on piles over water.
The Restaurant is beside a wharf which is a hive of activity without any smells, so sitting near the edge gives an interesting passing parade during meals.
The second bar and I guess eating area, is over water with a western outlook, so the sunsets were spectacular.
It was the most expensive place I stayed at in Indonesia and was well worth the tarriff for foreigners. " |

| "This hotel is in a good location close to china town, the old Dutch fort and many good warrungs also a good base to explore Makassar and near by countryside which is stunning.
Make sure you book a seaview cottage which are clean and comfortable, also due to the fantastic views of the harbour with the commings and goings of the local ferries and nearby islands from the verander and have all the facilities one needs. The budget rooms offer no view and are claustraphobic.
Staff are friendly though reserved, efficient and helpful. In all a good place to stay." |
