"The Ambasciatori Palace hotel has the reputation of an ultra luxurious hotel but really it's splendour is fading fast. Beware of booking rooms at discount because you could end up in one of their depressing dated rooms. Mine had ceramic coming off the bath and curtains that had seen better days. To be fair though when I complained bitterly and explained I was getting married and had booked the room months ago, we were eventually  moved to a deluxe room which was in another realm. Even the corridor was much nicer. Other corridors are dilapidated with bits of rolled up carpet lying about. The hotel isn't cheap to stay in and needs a complete overhaul to justify this."
