Excellent location - just 2 mins away from JR Hakodate station and the airport bus stop. The streetcar station is also 2 mins away on the main street next to the hotel. The morning market is just behind the hotel. The room is a little old though and room size is small but this is typical of Japanese hotel. There is no internet access in the room but the hotel lobby has a computer with internet access, provided to hotel guest for free. Also, to note that there are not many restaurants near the hotel, except the ones in the hotel and the morning market which most are opened during the day only. The redbricks warehouse restaurants area is about 15 min walk away. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel.

| "This hotel is located directly across the street from the JR station and within walking distance of a few sites (the fish market, the "cluster of warehouses," the Hakodate Ropeway, the oldest concrete power pole in Japan). It was great to get off the train and not have to walk a few blocks. There's a Sunkus and 7-11 within a block's walk, along with many restaurants. Inside the hotel are a number of restaurants, too, and a couple of thorough souvenir shops. I bought more cookies than I expected! I used the shipping service in the lobby to send them onto my next hotel. Very convenient.
The room itself had to have been renovated recently. It was in perfect condition. The room was a bit larger than the typical Japanese business hotel room but still small by American standards. It had the typical Japanese hard bed, too. I had an excellent view of Mount Hakodate and the harbor from my room. I appreciated that the window opens a crack because I like my room cool at night.

| "Superb location only 100 meters from JR Hakodate,the street-car stop, the bus terminus and the morning fish market.A pleasant walk to the historic sights.
The staff were very helpful and spoke good English.The tourist information centre in the rail station is excellent.
My room was on a high floor with a spectacular view over the city and harbour." |

| "In term of location. It was fantastic. Literally just outside the railway station. If you are booking sightseeing tours, the bus station is just across. This is also the same place to catch the Airport Express to the airport (400Y per pax). The morning fish market (miust ses) is just next door. The only complaint - very small room. Stayed at room facing back (fish market) with some view of the harbour and Mt Hakodate. Will stay there again but would certainly ask for a better, bigger room. 31 December 2007" |
