Although a bit high price, value is assured by perfect location (in front of central station, over a shopping mall), wonderful facilities (including restaurants) and good room. Service was great as usual in Japan.

| "With my wife & two travels bags, the room is just too small to move around. Luckily, we only stay for a day. Definitely, I will not go back to the hotal again. Nothing much to look forward. Even the TV position in the room is pathethic. It is rediculous to watch TV when one is asleep. Overall is "ZERO" standard. Tks" |

| "The room was one of the tiniest we had during our stay in Japan.
For the price of € 172,- it could have been a lot bigger. We received a corner room with double bed although we requested king size of twins.
The rest of the hotel, restaurants, cleanliness etc. was perfect." |

| "Ideal location across from the station. Room was quite large with a very large bathroom. Included breakfast was very good." |

| "Staying at this hotel was one of the major highlights of my honeymoon, and when a party of eight of us were headed back to Kanazawa, I eagerly booked our stay here again. This jem of a hotel sits an easy two-block walk away from Kanazawa Station, commanding one of the very best views in town with its elegant 30-story tower. From the moment you enter the lobby, a wonderfully ambient mix of art and architecture, you know your stay will be special. The rooms (and bathrooms) are spacious and well appointed, elevators are in abundance, and shopping is immediately at hand. This hotel's best amenity is its food, especially the exclusive teppan-yaki restaurant "Icho". Twice now I've had some of the best meals of my life, looking out at the rising moon from the 29th floor over the city panorama. Also on the 29th is the main bar "Vol de Nuit", ingeniously furnished to make the guests feel like they're unwinding in someone's elegant living room. The breakfast buffet at the second-floor Garden House is also a great way to start the day.
The only demerit I can assign is the lack of Internet access in the rooms, though this failing is common to most hotels Japan-wide. The Nikko scores some points back for providing a free Internet-enabled PC in the lobby for that quick email or train-schedule check, and lengthier sessions are made possible by the Internet cafes within a few block's walk.
The Nikko Kanazawa provides a level of luxury that would cost a small fortune in Tokyo or Kyoto, yet is priced well within all but the tightest of budgets. It is both an ideal jumping-off point for tourism by day, and a refuge for relaxation by night. Any time my plans send me toward Japan's north coast, I'll be making a beeline for this hotel." |
