Hotel room are quite nice and comfortable. There are 2 queen size beds in a twin room which is very comfortable. Staff are nice and friendly. Hotel is a bit too far from the nearest train station (about 20 min walk). There are a shuttle bus to and from kyoto station (this is not the station close to the hotel) every 1 hour or so if you arrive the station before 8 pm.

| "It was good that there was a shuttle bus from Kyoto station, especially given the very considerable distance involved! It would have been a good idea to mention this in the hotel information! It was unfortunate that few staff had much understanding of English, which did create some difficulties. The proximity of the adjoining shoppoing centre was a decided advantage. The room was well equipped and essentially well-maintained. " |

| "The Holiday Inn Kyoto was excellent value for money. The room was adequate in size and was clean and well equipped. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is well located for visiting shrines but down town access involved a 20 minute taxi/bus ride. A free hotel shuttle bus to Kyoto city centre ran every 75 mins. On registration we bought breakfast for 2 of our 3 nights which proved disappointing. The 'hot' buffet food was cool or even cold and efforts to correct this failed due to mutual language problems. Nevertheless we enjoyed our brief stay in Kyoto." |

| "It was not the hotel of our choice, but another one we booked through Asiarooms has closed, so we were offered this one instead. Hotel is located about 20-25 minutes from Kyoto train station by the hotel shuttle bus, which is going back and forth every 1 hour 20 minutes.The hotel does not have any porters, so you have to handle everything by yourself, they have a free internet, modest breakfast, clean and well sized room. Nice mountain view from the room." |
