"Very clean and good size room. Hotel's staff very helpful and courteous. Breakfast needs to offer more choices. "

"very stylish and well-designed hotel (as were the patrons wearing designer black in the lobby!) the rooms are large, well furnished, and gorgeous by any standard and the bathrooms a designer's dream showpiece. the front desk staff had their hands full with foreigners' requests, but they always took time to get the answer or fulfill the request. ask for rooms facing interior garden, if you want quieter. its on the intersection of busy streets, but facing the garden side you wouldn't know this. not at all convenient to subway, which is a problem for those doing serious sight-seeing. surrounded by temples and parks, museums, though. breakfast buffet one of the best i've had in japan. can choose between western buffet and a japanese course menu. also, free gym was unused and stocked with new and fancy equipment. well done. biggest issue for us was internet: $4/minute in your room or "free" wireless in lobby---but each time you used the "free" service you have to get codes from staff. also, no where to sit and work, only stylish couches to perch on (with drafts from door). just not comfortable. with even standard or business class hotels giving free internet access these days, why should a fancy place charge so much? i think they may eventually have to change this as people were sprawled everywhere, ruining the chic decor. i only chose "probably not" stay in this hotel again because of the location and the price. if design trumps cost, stay here."

"Beautiful and clean brand new hotel, but room was too small for what we paid. It was very difficul to use small bathroom. Great location for sightseeing. Some staff were very friendly and helpful."

"Very nice hotel in Kyoto. Great location (10-15 minutes walking from the train station and near to the main temples and Gion district). The hotel is brand new (or recently fully renovated), spotless, and even the most simple room is gorgeous. Highly recommend it (but it's a little bit expensive)."
