| "Excellent hotel and great location - within walking distance of many of the sights of Kyoto and if you want to go further a field then there's the station just below the hotel. Rooms a good size and staff very helpful. Would recommend " |

| "Excellent hotel, staff extremely helpful and courteous. Only complaint was the pool was not available all day to guests. Coffee in the room was also payable.

| "The Kyoto Okura Hotel was the 2nd hotel we stayed at during our trip to Japan. (The first being the Granvia, which I'd highly recommend). The hotel was not as modern as the Granvia but still impressive in its own way. The hotel was very clean with all the little luxuries you’d expect to find in your room in a 4* hotel. We had Breakfast included in our package and the views from the western breakfast restaurant were breathtaking and a lovely way to start each day.
Internet was free in the lobby, which was a nice extra, and we took the time to e-mail friends and family back home. We didn’t however use the pool as guests had to pay and we thought the charge was a little excessive.
We found the hotels location to be excellent, there was a major route bus stop across the road, and the hotel staff were extremely helpful in helping us plan days around Kyoto and providing us with tourist site bus maps. There were also a huge variety of bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk of the hotel.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
