Because of the number of bags we had, we caught a taxi to the hotel from the train station. A good thing too as its a little inconvienent with its multiple changes. However - the price for taxi was only 1200 yen which is really good.
The hotel is lovely. Close to subway, eateries, bus links and the room is fantastic. We arrived and were given a map of the local area in English which included restaurants, shops and other necessaries.
Some of the staff spoke some English while others were very patient with our phrasebook Japanese.
The breakfast room is good with a reasonable amount available in buffer.
The subway is 2 stops from a main shopping area of Kyoto and sightseeing areas.
While a little pricier than some Im sure, it was well worth the extra to have something comfortable and nice to return to at the end of a day on foot.

| "The hotel staff at the Rhino Hotel are very curtious, friendly and helpful. There are bus route maps in English at the Hotel Front Desk and although the staff do not speak very much English, they will try to answer your questions.
The room was modern and clean. The hotel is close to a main bus stop and tube station which enabled us to travel to the varies temples and shrines in Kyoto. The Hotel is 20 minutes from Kyoto Train Station by bus or 10 mins by taxi." |
