| "shuttle pickup location was not clear. Needed to call hotel to figure out the pickup location. Hotel looked clean and nice, classy too.
Room was fairly small but clean. Location is not too good, shuttle ride was a bit too far.
A pretty far walk to the shrine and shopping area. Need to take the subway. And from Kyoto station is not straight forward, requiring to switch lines." |

| "Nice rooms, beautiful location and service. Lakeside and near to the cable car ride and ferry service.
Except for lack of shuttle to the moto-hakone to have cheaper options to dinner. Stuck in hotel and pricey restaurant prices and so-so buffet dinner.
Free shuttle from Odawara Station is very good." |

| "Great hotel, don't be put off by the outward appearance, which is a little bland, the inside makes up for it. Warm friendly staff and great rooms. Would recommend." |

| "The neighborhood is a nice, quiet one, with access to a few nice temples. Great running in the hills behind the hotel. Our room seemed a little down at the heels for a Westin, but the service was excellent. " |

| "We were surprised that this hotel was rated so highly. The room was small and a bit shabby (and we were told that we had been upgraded). The service was merely fair. The bright spot was the terrific buffet breakfast each morning with an abundant and tasty assortment of traditional Japanese and Western dishes. The dining room, though, was rather crowded, noisy and lacking in ambiance. This hotel was otherwise fine because of its excellent location for sightseeing, proximity to transportation and because we didn't plan to spend much time inside the hotel. Comparatively speaking, however, it was not what we expected. (Also, the much touted garden at the hotel did not look tended or representative of the beautiful Japanese gardens elsewhere.)" |

| "I enjoyed my stay at the westin miyako. it's located just east of the city - right near all of the best shrines and shopping areas. lots of beautiful walks nearby...
the staff were very courteous, the breakfast was quite good. concierge were excellent and extremely helpful in giving recommendations on what to see and do.
the room was really quite large with tonnes of space and a nice big bathroom. it was all very clean.
i was a little surprised that the hotel didn't have a health spa to use. if you wanted a massage, you could only have them done in your room, which can be a problem if you're sharing a room. " |

| "Westin Miyako is a fantastic choice if you want to go to Kyoto. It is near the beautiful temple complex Nanzenji,Walking distance and all other beauty spots ara close by. The restaurants in the hotel are all superclass and reasonable prized. The bar has a magnificent view over the city. The staff is wonderful and quick. The manager is from New -Zealand so he understands the need of the foreign guest.Breakfast buffet is just great with all kinds of foods form Asia to European. The staff all speak good english. You can send your parcels from the hotel.and more and more.
Only thing i missed was a hotbath(onsen) facility which most Japanese hotels have, instead they have a swimming pool and sauna. The sauna being very small." |

| "Lovely hotel with great service - only minus point is that it's not being centrally located but there is a tube 2 mins walk plus free use of the hotel shuttle bus.
This hotel was certainly better than some of the previous reviews had indicated - but perhaps they had stayed in the superior rooms rather than the lovely deluxe room we had which also had amazing views of Kyoto from our own private terrace.

| "Well located, well appointed Hotel with delightful staff who speak excellent English. The Gardens and Walking trails attached to Hotel are lovely. Good Gym and Pool area.
The 50% off Voucher for Drinks in the Bar before 7pm was a nice touch and the Bar staff particularly friendly.
The Concierge Staff were particularly friendly.
Only downside was the Breakfast.Dried out, poor quality food. Even the local Japanese breakfast was poor quality.I was very surprized,as I didn't think this was possible in Japan. Westin Hotel should look into this. " |

| "This was an amazing hotel, the best I stayed at in japan. It has everything you can ask for.
It is nearby all the major tourist attractions.
There is a free shuttle bus to and from the train station. Just ask at the kyoto train stations information desk and they will direct you to where the bus stops.
There is a free to use gym, indoor pool and outdoor plus so much more.
The breakfast buffet is huge : an american section and a japanese.
