| "I was most appreciative of the way in which the hotel manager sorted out a problem with our booking, enabling our stat to be worry-free.
Location is excellent for getting around Nagasaki as it is close to railway station and has the tram passing the front door.
The room was more spacious than most others we encountered in Japan, and the large bathroom was great!" |

| "My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 12 nights in October 2007,we were completely satisfied,it is about 6 minutes walk from Nagasaki Railway Station,we found the rooms to be very quiet, there are trams and buses
directly outside the side entrance of the hotel which run every few minutes.Breakfast was included which was Japanese/European style with plenty of choice. The staff were helpful at all times,I will definetly stay at this hotel on my next trip to Nagasaki, there is also free highspeed internet service in the rooms so I took my laptop with me,you get CNN on the TV.,and an English language newspaper is delivered outside the room every morning" |

| "Fluent English was spoken at the reception, and the staff were extremely polite and helpful.
Rooms were spacious and the interior classy. The twin room we had included a lazy boy allowing you to enjoy the view.
The restaurants located on the top floor (where breakfast is served) are excellent.
The only small gripe I have is that the time it takes to walk from the JR station to the hotel is underestimated on their website. You're better of taking a short taxi ride (the meter shouldn't even jump by the time you get there) if you have heavy luggage or are just tired.
This hotel was the best one in my Kyushu experience; I prefer this Best Western Premier Nagasaki over the Sheraton Grande Ocean Resort in Miyazaki by a long shot." |

| "I was surprised to be given a suite or biggest room while I checked-in the Best Western Premier Hotel during my visit to Nagasaki last month. The room is beautiful, clean, comfortable and very spacious. Similary, the bathroom is huge and clean. The overall rating is perfect for this hotel.
This was my first visit to Nagasaki; my whole trip was fantastic and fun. I think the hotel is very nice and present. The staff is very cheerful and helpful. It is worth the values and to stay at this premier hotel.

| "Wow. Ignore the drab grey exterior, this is a lovely hotel for a lovely city.
I picked this hotel as I recognised the name (Best Western) and I wanted a hotel near the railway station as I'd be arriving late at night. As I understand it, there are two hotels at the railway station.
This hotel is about 5-10 minutes casual stroll with suitcase. Come out of the railway station and turn left. You will see the Best Western logo on the top of this tall building. It is on the same main road as the station. You could also get a tram, but it is only 2 stops. The tram stops right outside the station and right outside the hotel.
I have stayed at Best Westerns before and they have been ok. This was my first BW Premier. Wow. This is a top notch upper 4 star hotel at least. The large marble entrance lobby is very grand and has a piano.
I arrived about 11pm and the man at the front desk gave me a photocopied map of the city. And then took me to my room. I've never had this anywhere!
The room was superb. Very large and very comfortable. Very attractive decor. Amazing bed, the type you'd normally get in a Westin. As well as the ensuite bathroom, my room had a marble top sink at the door end of the room. The TV had CNN.
The hotel does wedding receptions.
A wide range of breakfast foods were available from the rooftop restaurant.
Reception were happy for me leave a bag with them when I checked out, that I picked up later.
I had lunch (on Sunday) in the NY Dining restaurant. Great service and delightful food, good south facing views of the railway station, the river widening, and the hills of the city.
As mentioned, one of the cities three tram lines stops right outside the hotel, and a short ride on this line north takes you to the main reason why this city is infamous.
Nagasaki is a reasonably small city, and as this hotel is quite central it is very convenient for the shopping area in the city centre, and reasonably close to the many other tourist attractions in the south of the city. Yes it is not the closest to the south of the city, thus if you (very sensibly) want to spend several days here exploring all of the other very worthy attractions here, a hotel in the south might be a better option, but as this is a smallish city this is a minor concern compared with the other hotel selection factors you may have.
The hotel has some beautiful views, as it is in the middle of the V shape of the city. You can only see a very small amount of the harbour.
The only downside was that the map I was given wasn't a very dark blacka and white photocopy, although everything was readable." |

| "we have experienced a very unpersonal hotel, where the staff made it very clear that the presence of the guests of a wedding was far more important than ours. where the staff didn't bother to speak english (even when we asked our questions in our 'best japanese'. we have really tried) and gave us (what appeared later to be the case) therefore the wrong answers, just to get rid of us. it was a downright shame." |
