You cannot ask for a better located hotel in Osaka’s famous Shinsabashi district. Before I booked this hotel, I read the reviews posted and they were extremely helpful.
However the impression I got before the trip is that the hotel is located in the middle of the red light district (isolated unsafe location) and you need to walk about 3-5min. to the shopping areas. I wish to emphasis that the hotel is RIGHT IN the shopping district whereby the shopping begins the moment you step out of the hotel. The hotel is surrounded by plenty of shops selling clothing, shoes, fruit, convenient stalls, eateries, etc. and the main shopping street (Shinsabashi street) is less than 100 meters away (2 min. walk for me). The Shinsaibashi station (entrance/exit) is along this street and is about 3 to 4 min. walk from the hotel. This is my first trip to Japan and was initially worried about the distant between the station to the hotel and if I had to walk a great distant pulling my ‘2 wheel’ suitcase.
The rooms are good for a 3-4 star hotel of this standard and are not that small. Relative to a Japan/Tokyo hotel for the same standard, the rooms are quite roomy and decent. If you compare it with a US/international hotel or a 5-star Japan hotel, you would find it small. I went with my wife (twin room) and find the room size good and comfortable enough. The furnishing is new and there is an LCD TV to save table space. There is also a small wardrobe of about 0.5m wide that we can hang our Jackets. The bathrooms are the 'standard Japanese cubicle bathrooms with bathtubs’ you commonly find in Tokyo (3-4star) hotels.
Finally print the hotel map before you travel if this is your first trip there. Even though the hotel is nearby the station, you may get lost. Or remember this (borrowing a quote from another kind reviewer).. “Turn right from Exit 6 (SOGO department store). All the way straight till you see the first traffic with zebra crossing (about 50 meters away, small street-not the main street), then turn left. About 3 streets down (about 100 meters), you will see the hotel - with a yellow to red circle logo on the building (10 stories)”.
I will definitely stay in this hotel again if I travel to Osaka and would highly recommend others who are traveling on a budget. It is extremely good value for money.

| "Great location, about 10 to 15 min walk from Shinsaibasi station, very close to Dontombori, America Maru and other shopping districts.
Room size is pretty good for a Japanese hotel.
Great service (then again the Japanese really know how to give "Customer Service"), very helpful and super polite!
I'd stay in this hotel again for sure.

| "Great hotel and location. Perfect for my family with my young daughter. However, it'll be a queeze for family with 2 kids or more. Would be great if they have slight bigger with 2 double beds instead. And breakfast is good and healthy. " |
