"Nice place for a short stay in Tokyo. Well located within no more than ten minutes to Ikebukuru Station, restaurants of various styles, and shopping places. The only problem is that there is no kettle for you to make a tea or coffee for yourself. "

"Well located hotel. Probably more suited towards the younger crowd, but would be alright for anyone of any age. The staff are all really nice and easy to talk to in English. Recommend for nearly anyone looking for a bargain."

"Your +/- bar rating tool above doesn't seem to work, at least on my computer. Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro was a bit old and dirty, and I would not stay there again, though I think it might be a reasonable choice for budget travelers. The Internet availability was very inconvenient compared to all the other hotels I stayed at in Japan -- only available in the lobby of the hotel, where it was crowded with very limited places to sit. What most bothered me was that the front desk refused to drop something in the mail for me when I was checking out to return to the U.S. I was returning my rented cell phone to a Japan address. I have never been in another hotel where something as simple as placing something into the mail was a problem. This seemed to me rude and ridiculous."

"Hotel is near to the Ikebukuro station.Need sometime to find the direction to the hotel. Its about 10 mins walk from the station. Many good japanese food outlets and a 100 yen shop nearby.Friendly counter staff & nice clean room. Will stay again in this hotel."

":) THANK YOU"
4/5  Posted by MRS. WALLETUN, Ingrid, Sweden in March 2008
"Thank you very much for a good staying at Sakura Hotel. We are very pleased with the nice stab and the location. Perfect with refrigerator at the room and easy to bring hot water or coffee from the reception for breakfast."

"The staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. However, non smoking rooms were unaviable even though the intention of having a non-smoking room was made through the booking. There was a smell in the room and other than the bed, other parts of room appeared dirty. "

"The room was so small, there were items in it from the previous people ( books, magazines, a bag of garbage) The whole building was under renovations, we didn't even stay in the booked hotel. Hopeless"

"We stayed at this hotel for new years eve. It was only a 10 minute walk to the train station. It's in a quiet part of Ikebukuro. The rooms was small but it was expected. The room was a good size for me and my boyfriend. The bed wasn't that comfy, nor was the blanket soft. The bathroom was really clean though. I would stay there again, but not for a long period of time."
