"Hotel services on overall was great. We arrived early in the morning and we were told that our rooms were not ready. However, the hotel was kind enough to provide us with another temporary room while waiting. Do request for a sea view room as you'll get to catch the beautiful sunset in the evening."

"In summary, this is a relatively nice hotel however it is a poor value and I probably would stay at a different hotel if in the area again. Pros: great location for shopping and entertainment, nice seaview, good buffet breakfast Cons: rooms expensive for what you get, hallway carpet in bad shape, small rooms, worn out mattresses "

"We stayed at the 9th floor facing the sea. We had 2 rooms connecting. Both rooms are with balconies and a great view of the sunset. The hotel provide 5 stars service, professional and friendly staff. The furnitures and carpet need changing though. They looked old and dirty. They feel like 3.5 class. And the balcony and glass door need upgrading, not 5 stars."

"For Hyatt group hotel, this Hyatt Regency at Kinabalu is definitely their lower class hotel. I have read that it is only 3-4 stars hotel, however, I think it's worthwhile to try staying in one of the Hyatt group hotel. I expected an elegant room furnished with classy furnitures. I should have lowered my expectation. The room was so so. It was big and spacious though. However, the furnitures were a bit outdated. Also, from my room, I could see a mouldy exit door. The management should take notice of that. I rented a car, there were not enough parking space. However, the staff could help us park a car and we could collect the key from them afterwards. The above mentioned were the downsides of this hotel. The service was great. I took a Club Room, so breakfast, tea break, and access the liquor (5-7pm) was free. I could feel the privilege. The staff was helpful. The location was excellent. It was at City Center, near Little Italy restaurant (favourite choice for meal time) and other shopping centers. I expected a PC in the room actually, but I could surf at the private lounge (Club Room's privilege) if I really needed the internet. For relaxation without worries to work, Hyatt hotel is a good choice (No PC in the room means you can focus on resting the whole day!)"

Comments:

The staffs are not too helpful at the reception. They are not familiar with the places in KK and not helpful with guiding us how to get around to places and one time even help us to cal a wrong resort to ask information. Room is good, clean, with nice view. But the whole hotel feels quite old and lights are too dim almost everywhere in the lobby and corridors. Food at breakfast is good. Location a bit far from the shopping and convenient places.
