| "The hotel is set in a secluded part of the Kota Kinabula far away from everything - you have to get a taxi to the next town.
The shop in the hotel does sell snacks but you have to get all your food on the resort, but you can go into town and stock up at the local supermarket.
you can walk for miles on the beach and not see any other hotels and you definately won't be botered by people trying to sell you anything.
The hotel is lovely, the rooms spacious and nearly everyone is facing the sea. There is a golf club with an attached spa. There are activities organised everyday, one set for the kids and one for the adults. There are 4 restaurants, so you get a bit of variety though the menu's are not extensive.
The staff are very helpful and friendly. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would definately recommend this hotel and resort to our friends and family, in fact this resort was recommended to me." |

| "Only spent 3 days at the Resort, best to spend more time to take advantage of the location and the facilities. Loved the fact that the Reserve is just next door and the Spa is a must. " |

| "stayed there from 31st march to 4th april. stayed in one of the new ocean wings, i highly recommend it if budget permits as the ocean wing is not just a larger room, but rather a totally new concept, with its own check-in counter, concierge. The rooms were beautiful. breakfast was at the nice Coast restaurant. One could order as many main courses as one likes with a choice of beef medallion, rice congee to teriyaki cod fish. also, the service was superb with the staff greeting u by name everywhere. not to mention the drinks session on wednesdays evenings at the pool side with the GM is a nice touch. managed to find out where to get the good durians and best fish noodle stall from the staff during the get-together.
Negative points. One cannot overemphasise that the resort is far from everywhere else. Highly recommended to rent a car if u were to stay in rasa ria. though there is shuttle to and fro from KK town, the infrequentnature, once every three hours, makes things inconvenient. food again is not cheap in the hotel. Highly recommend people to go to "Ocean Seafood Village" in KK town. Amazing seafood! Not just the hoi polloi type like tiger prawns and lobsterS! we are talking about exotic seafood like stonefish (steamed of course) and coconut crabs etc. Better than Gayang or PortView seafood in my view.
enjoy your stay!" |

| "We loved it here, perfect with our 2 children, aged 3 and 5. There is a day bed in the room which can be made up for a child and an extra bed fitted perfectly next to it. Food is excellent and children eat free at buffets. We would definitely go back here." |

| "We stayed in the Ocean wing, it was excellent. Good size rooms and very clean. We are expats living in Malaysia and we found the food at nearly all the restaurants some of the best we have had in Malaysia.
Staff very friendly and helpful.A little more expensive than some other Malaysian resorts but of a very high sttandard." |

| "Great service. I would definitely recommend booking a room in the Ocean Wing, with 45sqm rooms and a large outdoor tub on the terrace. The two pools are very nice and big, staff is very helpful. Foot and neck massages are available by the pool. The beach itself is not that great but it is very nice to take a walk on the 3km beach." |

| "This resort is good but depends for who. I would say it is very similar to a Club Med. We were on honeymoon and the weather was overcast most days with a little sun each day. When it rained there was alomost nothing to do. The TV stations were very average CNN was the best channel and that says a lot! If you have kids I suppose this place would be great. There are activities to do and its a nice place. I just thought it was not for us on honeymoon!" |

| "This is a great destination for families, the kids club is great for younger kids upto about 12 is ok, and its safe to leave them unattended. The place itself is very well kept and maintained, a very beautiful enviroment to spend a holiday. However, please remember that you are very isolated here and there really is very little to do outside the hotel. The nearest town is a good drive away about 1 hour and even so its not the most exciting place. Overall we really were very happy with the hotel, the staff were great and friendly. The prices the hotel were charging were not friendly and expect to pay about HKD100 / GBP 8.50 for a spag bog plus drinks etc and your bills can soon add up.
This was the down side. If you are looking for a relaxing place the kids can have fun then its super, just expect to pay for it!" |

| "We could not fault anything about the Rasa Ria, it was an absolute joy to stay there from the welcome drink and cool towel to sitting watching the sun go down at the bar.
The facilities were perfect but holiday was really made by the staff. we have never met so many polite, kind, helpful and gentle people. If only it was the same everywhere else in the world!" |

| "My friends and had a terrible stay here. 2 bouts of food poisoning, one from the smoked salmon at the breakfast buffet, the other from the prawns at the Naan restaurant. Terrible after care. We saw a rat run through the restaurant and were told it was 'Reg the hotel squirrel'. Never again. If you want a Shangri-la go to Tanjung Aru..........lovely place." |
