"The reception staff and the concierge were not friendly. I did not feel as though the hotel welcomed tourists. It seemed more suited to business travelers. It was very clean and had all the amenities that you would need and the location was excellent."

"Again a wonderful time spent at the Grand Millenium Hotel! It was our second stay & we've already booked to stay there again in January next year. We spent 5 nights at the JW Marriott in KL a couple of weeks ago (just to do a bit of a comparison) but there's no way you can compare the 2 hotels. The Millenium's service was exceptional. The ambience & atmosphere is welcoming & very accomadating. The service at the Marriott was....well...lack-lustre to say the least. We definately are not going to waste our time with comparisons anymore- in KL -it's Grand Millenium every time for us! "

"The best with this Hotel is the location. The breakfast is not international no god in my European mind. Another thing we did not like there`s a club in the hotel, witch we were denied access to because i hade shorts a pair of Brand shorts (Camel). Hallo its 30 degres celsius outside. The rooms ok. Personal beside the personal in the Club Exellent. Kenneth/Sweden "

"Good breakfast selection, nice room, good location. Interieur rather old-fashioned and dark, esp. breakfast area. Staff is friendly and English speaking but sometimes not able to handle the amount of hotel guests' request which leads to long waiting times for check-in or check-out. Gym and pool area are enjoyable. Still, overall rather a 4* than a 5* impression of the hotel."

"Great position in the centre of Bukit Bintang.Staff fantastic and hotel has superb pool, gym and spa.Food good and rooms clean.Internet access great if you carry your own laptop if not prepare to pay about £15 per hour with access 9 to 5 Mon to Fri only. Also do not use the phone in your room, a 20min call to UK from other Hotels in Malysia cost £20 at the Millennium cost £70."

Comments:

My husband and I (seniors) stayed at the Grand Millennium for a week, over Christmas. We chose an executive club room. On arrival at 8am we were escorted to the Executive Club on the 18th floor for immediate check in,and were also offered breakfast there. It is a smaller dining area than the restaurant downstairs, with a more limited breakfast menu, but very pleasant and peaceful, not so much like sitting in the middle of a railway station in the rush hour! All day we had access to the club for complimentary refreshments,(fantastic "homebaked" cookies to go with my coffee) and from 5.30 until 8.30pm there were complimentary cocktails, though my husband asked for a scotch and got it,while I had very good port.We had use of the computer free of charge for an hour. We ate five times in the main restaurant, preferring a la carte to buffet. It had quite a variety of fare, from local Malaysian food to Japanese,Indian,Singaporean,Chinese and Western all of which we tried and enjoyed ,at a surprisingly reasonable cost. Its actually cheaper to eat, than drink in the main bar! Without exception the staff were extremely friendly helpful and courteous. The hotel was decorated throughout for Christmas . Father Christmas visited the restaurants on Christmas Eve,my husband was given a gift by him , it was his birthday that day. I must also praise the honesty of the laundry staff,I sent my husbands trousers to the laundry and omitted to remove his wallet from the back pocket. It wasnt till after breakfast he realised he didnt have it,so I called the laundry, explained the situation and within minutes had a call back to say the wallet was on the way to our room.Cards and cash all intact! (incidently, part of the executive deal was three items laundered daily with no charge) The hotel is in a great location for everything. The Hop on Hop off double decker bus stops right across the street, monorail close by,no trouble getting a taxi to go anywhere (though getting back can sometimes take time because of traffic jams,)but we had a great time and would certainly use the hotel again .
