"The open lobby is beautiful. The garden and modern design swimmingpool arevery beautiful. the beach is beautiful with good chairs. The room is average. the bathroom is good. breakfast was not included and therefore the Hyatt was, compared to other resorts, expensive. Low value for money. Around the corner of the hotel is a shabby restaurant under a large tent. Here you can have a perfect breakfast: the best roti canai of Malaysia. Also you can order typical Malay food. Breakfast for 4 persons incl drinks was RM 12-15. Rashid is a very nice guy who sailed every ocean. Further down the boulevard are all kind of restaurant and shops. we rented a car which is very cheap in Langkawi. best place is at the airport in front of the luggage claim."

"The only thing which spoiled our stay was noise from the room next door with people having the television on loud and coming in very late at night, talking and laughing loudly and waking us up. We were going to mention this anti social behavoiur but in the end we didn't as didn't want to complain...everything else was so lovely. Next time we come will book a sea view room as they must be stunning."

"On holidays, the hotel appears to be understaffed. Cleaning maid had to make many rooms and apparently missed making up the room on one occasion. "

"Hotel claims did not receive our request for King size bed. Thank goodness the reception staff helped by upgrading us to deluxe room after I showed him my baby. However, the deluxe room was really disappointing. Furniture was old and bedsheets had a smell. TV reception was also not clear. There was no towel in the toilet and we had to wait over 1 hr for it. Room was more like a 4 star standard though the pool and beach area were nice and had a resort feel. "

"This is the worst ever 5 star hotel that I've ever stay, both room and toilet is old, dirty and small, there is no water outlet on toilet floor, if you spill shower water on the floor, the toilet flood...service is terrible, our rooms were not clean up on the second day we stay. My baby drop some sand on the bed on check in, it was still there when we check out !! The beach is ok but dirty, I saw some baby diapers sitting there until the high tide wash it away... it is also right next to public beach, if you wear sexy swimming wear be ready to get a lot of attention from foreign workers who are wondering around there, plenty of them especially on weekend... Check out took about an hour..they lost our discount card !!"

"The Hyatt Kuantan is still one of the best destinations for people living in Singapore and seeking for a few days relaxation on pool and beach but do not want to travel too far/long. Pool area and beach are nice to hang loose. The buffet area was nicely renovated and is very inviting now. The Italian restaurant has again proven its consistency in quality, the music lounge is also a cool place to wind down after a long day. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, particularly for my elderly parents. The staff deserves a top score for their services during our stay. The only thing that Hyatt really needs to address are the rooms. We were staying at the ground floor rooms, facing the pool, which are probably the ones used most frequently. These rooms are showing their age too much and need renovation. Particularly our bathroom was poor. Cracked sink and bathtub which were poorly repaired as well as old grouting sealing did not look appealing. Cleaning of the toilet was poor. Once the rooms are fixed, this hotel is again top."

"The hotel is overall good in terms of service, facilities and location. The room I stayed at which is the superior room looks a bit dated and the ventilation in the bathroom is very poor. The room cleanliness is only ok and not the standard I would expect from Hyatt. If you're looking for a quite and a romantic vacation, avoid the school vacation season. Otherwise, the hotel has a great beach to offer, a wonderful spa and good food. I would consider coming back but I would perhaps stay in a better category room that look better and you get for what you pay. "

"AsiaRooms.com certainly offered a fantastic rate which corresponded to the quality of the hotel. The hotel might not have met our expectations at a higher rate level. The furnishings in the room were tired and the bathroom was basic. We found it strange that the bathroom didn't have any floor drainage so if it got wet from stepping out of the bath, the floor remained wet till the next day since there wasn't anywhere for it to drain off to. The toiletry/amenity kit was very complete and more generous than many five star hotels. Thumbs up in that area. The grounds were well maintained, lush and spacious. The pool was located next to the beach which is nice but the water either needed better filtration or water treament. The water seemed "stale". The dinner buffet on Saturday seemed very ample and attractive, sadly our group didn't opt to dine in. I won't have minded if we did. Loads of seafood and meats for the BBQ and Grill. Breakfast was pretty good. I would add more local variety of dishes eg. Soto Ayam soup, Laksa, Fishball soup. Service in general was friendly and prompt. Not a destinational resort but certainly a good enough accomodation choice if you happen to be in Kuantan."

"Few hazards and service undeliverables you might want to consider: - 1. The bath tiles are always wet, due to the wet whether. Drainage is poor at the bath. 2. Monkey hopped into room from balcony. 3. Checking in and out lack of staffs. Considerably slow with no proper ushering. Check on "Langkawi Sheraton". 4. Did not allocate twin beds as requested. Was initially proposed to be situated at half sea view. We paid for full sea view. Would you settle for secong best? Wrong recommendation by staff. 5. Poor hotel sand beach maintenance. Litter everywhere. "
