| "On the plus side, service was excellent.
On the down side, the place generally looks dated.
The room we stayed in probably needs a refresh. Bathroom needs fixing eg. taps in the shower could not be set properly - the hot/cold water setting keeps changing.

| "Oversized bathtub was great, but the shower cubicle, while large, was poorly maintained. The door could not shut and the door and door frame were made of stainless steel, making me feel like I was back in my university dormitory.
The room smelled musty (and stayed smelling musty for the first day or so) when we first checked in, because of all the wood in the room, the humid weather, and the fact that the air-conditioning had not been turned on. The wood panelling is a nice idea and looks great in pictures but doesn't do well in this climate; when you are in the room all the wood looks really old and worn.
The location is less than ideal because food in the hotel is very expensive; we ended up spending a lot of money taking taxis to Pantai Cenang, where there were many more food options.
The beach was private but small, and the view marred by some built up headlands opposite.
The service was generally very good, except for one time on the last day of our stay, just before checkout: our keys had been deactivated and, despite calling for a shuttle before leaving the room, we were left stranded outside our room for more than 20 minutes before a shuttle arrived.
The buffet breakfast was great though; the restaurant it was served in was really nice and there was a good variety of high quality food.
If I do go back to Langkawi I would stay at a hotel in Pantai Cenang: the beach isn't private but much nicer and wider, and while it's much more laid back than, say, Patong beach in Phuket, there are plenty of affordable food options.

| "Not as good as we thought, the location is remote and there are no restaurants or bars around except at the resort but be prepared to have overpriced average food and the kids shouting around. Although bungalows were fine, considering the price we paid (90 pounds/ night) we don't think that resort was good value. Couples and romantics, please avoid, the Sheraton is the typical resort for families spending the most of their vacation at the resort!" |

| "We were highly disappointed with the Sheraton. When we arrived, the mini bar door was broken and just sitting on the floor. The room was alot older than we expected. You need to get a bus shuttle to get to the lobby but it was very slow therefore we walked instead. Wouldn't like to know what it was like during peak season! The gym had 3 running machines and that was it. They advertised it to have so much more. The pool wasn't very appealing and some staff were quite rude. Overall, highly disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone." |

| "A bit surprised to see that this hotel was under the Sheraton group as it was extremly run down, although half the rooms have been renovated apprently, the question should be asked what year it was renovated. Although a very nice lobby most the grounds are drab and run down, staff try hard however maybe need more management to oversee and help raise the standards of basic tasks like filling a coffee cup or water glass and approaching guests instead of standing around.
Porters very efficient. Pobably good for a family with small children on a budget." |

| "The rooms and the food are good as expected from a 5 star hotel. A beach lover could be disappointed; there are only two short strips of beach with inconvenient big rocks. Unless you like walking, you need the hotel bus to move about. There were only three open-sided buses, which meant you have to wait for some time during peek demand and you get wait when it is raining. The air conditioning in the room was not working well. The hotel is in the midst of a jungle, so expect the occasional company of insects and wildlife." |

| "The staff at this resort get 5 stars. They were always helpful and friendly.
We stayed for 4 nights and paid the extra to get a sea facing room. The room was very old and small and dark with a leaking bathroom cieling, for this quality of resort and we had 2 small beds instaed of the king reqested. This was a problem that couldnt be fixed as there were no other kingbed rooms available. The resort is really quite dated, besides the lobby which is spectacular with its views of the sea. From reading other reviews DEFINETLY ask for a renovated room to avoid dissapointment. Dinner at the Spice Trader was fantastic thanks to head chef Amar. This was the 2nd out of 3 fivestar resorts we stayed in, in Malaysia and was the only one we were dissapointed with because of the room. 5 STARS FOR THE STAFF, 0 STARS FOR THE ROOM..." |
