"Room are a little rundown. Overall it is alright but when looking from a distant outside, the night facade is beautiful. I book two rooms with the price being shown as given "seaview"-facing sea but upon printout the booking turn out to be "hillview" which is not consistent from the prebooking price agreed! Hope the info given in the future will genuinely reflect what is written or many will feel short-changed!"

"This hotel is probably about 2 stars and quite dated internally. The carpet in the halls is well worn and the walls need painting and freshening badly. The rooms are a reasonable size though the mattress is rock hard. The bed linen was not changed on a number of occasions and the sheets were stained from previous users. The staff were the high point of our stay with most going out of their way to be helpful and friendly. We generally found that the occasional one who tried to avoid contact had very poor english. The beach is littered after each high tide with rubbish though staff clean it regularly. Not a nice beach to swim at but the pool is adequate. Food at the restaurant was okay without being great and breakfast was adequate. The egg bar could have been better with only fried eggs or warm raw eggs in shells available. The egg bar was manned so scrambled or omelettes could have been cooked. This is our fifth visit to Penang and we would probably stay at Feringhi again rather than travel from Tanjung. "

"An ok-ish hotel. Room cleanliness wasn't too good. That's compared to Thai hotel cleanliness though. Bathroom shower curtain was unacceptable, would not have such dirty and aged curtain in my own home, let alone in a hotel. Also had hair from previous occupants in the drain. Ok service, friendly staff. Tried to use the lobby internet 20min before our pick up for airport. After waiting for 10-15minutes for someone to bring me the password (internet was chargeable and someone told me he'd give me the password and then vanished in the back room) I gave up. Breakfast was nice though."

"The lobby and dining area of the hotel is attractive, with direct access to the beach, and a pleasant breeze keeps it cool. The food is mostly local fare, well cooked and tasty. Service is good. The rooms are in need of refurbishing, but they are clean and comfortable. Bathrooms also need up grading. The location of the hotel is good for a beach holiday, and the distance to the town centre and places of interest is acceptable. "

"When we arrived at the hotel we were expecting a room with a balcony as the photo on Asia rooms looks like it does have a balcony but none of the rooms do. We didn't like the 1st room we were given so we upgraded to a suite which was great. The standard rooms are ok. The foyer area of the hotel has been renovated and the rooms are supposed to be renovated next. The hallways definately are in need of an uplift. The hotel staff are excellent and are very happy to help you. The hotel is very crowded on a weekend as alot of people go there from KL. Also avoid the Malaysian school holidays as it is packed. The hotel is right on the beach. It is also on the bus route and is very easy to get around using the Rapid bus service. Costs around 50 cents to get to Gergetown or Batu Farringui Left out of the hotel (approx 500 mtrs) past the Chinese swim club is an open food market although it doesn't look that impressive the food is brilliant. All in all the hotel is good value for money."

 Business
 Eco Adventure
Would I stay at this location again: Probably not
Comments: The hotel location was too far off from town. To make matter worse the transport system is far from good. All taxis dont run on meter so you are subjected to being rip off pretty often. Public transport got lots of room for improvement. The reception was quite pleasant and so is the restaurant staff who volunteer to pack our breakfast when she know that we are checking out early. Oaying M$224.00 even during the off peak season is pretty steep....there are many more budget hotel in Georgetown which is half the price.
This hotel is more suitable for couple who are looking for a romantic gateaway and those who love the beaches. Even Ferranghi is quite a distant away. Forget about Guerney Drive, the food there is atrocious except for the Penang Char Kway Teow which is slightly better than the rest. I think you can better food at the Red House right in the smack of town. You can get pretty cheap hotel too like Malaysia hotel which only charged M$138/ for a double bed X 2.
Even the attractions is not so upto our expecttation. Penang Hill, Kek Lok Si and Fort Cornwallis are the only places we visited. The rest are made up of Heritage trails and more museum and nature reserve.
