"I found the hotel room lurking of an old carpet smell and reckoned that they probably hardly do thorough cleaning of the carpets. Despite providing a non-slip mat, the bath tub was extremely slippery and I am not sure how older folks can manage on it. My friend and I nearly slipped a few times and later learnt that we need to stand in the middle - one foot in front of the other - of the bathtub to get our balances. The breakfast selection was average. Some of the stuff were even stiff instead of tasting like freshly made. The location was also a little too far off the town area. For people who wants to shop, staying closer to Gurney plaza would have been a better choice. Also, that would make it more accessible to Queensbay Mall. "

"This was the second time we have stayed at the Bayview and consider it excellent value for money in terms of facilities, comfort and location. The breakfast was excellent and catered for all tastes, the ammenities clean and the service friendly and efficient. We will definitely stay here again."

"Very pleasant stay overall. A room with a view would have been nice. Dining room staff competent but not particularly attentive to guests' needs. Grounds were well kept. Internet access was limited. On site excellent tailor, excellent."

"I stayed in this hotel along with my son, location of hotel is excellent, near the beach.Rooms are spacious, bathroom is clean, hot and cold water was available all the time, breakfast was just great.lady at Travel desk was very cooperative and arranged all our sight seeing trips. over all it was nice to be in penang and i love to visit this beach resort with my family again. "To be very honest, I can imagine this hotel was at its peak in the late 80s and early 90s. Although it was a comfortable stay, the facilities are limited in the rooms and in the overall area. Would prefer if bars and restaurants opened till late like around or past midnight. Service was generally slow. It wasn't a terrible place to be but I certainly did not think it was worth the amount I paid for it. Its location in Baru Ferringhi is rather far off from everything especially Georgetown. If you plan on being in this area without going into town, then it's fine for that. Overall it was ok but I was expecting more. "

"The location is very bad, away from everything. Instead of having shutle bus to transport guests to the nearst shopping center, they have limo for rent !! My wife got very bad experince when making an appointment with the Saloon for Buty. She almost had a fight with the lady working there, saloon lady was not polite and in-expence on dealing with customers, my wife cancelled the appointment Swimming pool closes at 8 PM, very small bar Jet ski and other games are available a 15 years old girl got hurt when using games, not safe for children Food for break fast was not bad at all ( we did enjoy) I will not stay there in future"

"The family room is very big and can comfortably accommodate 4-5 ppl. Room is clean except there is a mouldy smell from the carpet. Location is directly situated at the beach, but need to walk abt 15 mins to the night market, not recommended to seniors. Hotel breakfast is ok with wide variety of food to choose. The swimming pool and garden is beautiful. Overall bayview hotel is value for money"

"We were disappointed with this hotel - it is very dated and needs refurbishment e.g. the carpets are a horrible green colour, the rooms are very dimly lit and the room facilities are really old and basic. The staff were quite unhelpful and housekeeping would often forget to give us new toiletries each day or provide complimentary drinking water...which all hotels in the far east do! The lower floor rooms are quite noisy so as soon as we got there, we had to pay for an upgrade in order to be moved to a higher floor - we also looked at about 5 rooms before we were happy with one! Otherwise, the hotel pool is very nice and there are lots of beach activities right outside e.g. jet-skiing etc. The breakfast was also very good. If we went to Penang again, we would probably pay a bit extra and stay at a nicer hotel."

"The drinks and food at the hotel where over prices for the area and type of hotel. Not the cleanes hotel i have ever stayed at. "

"We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. Our only criticism was the lack of atmosphere in the lounge bar. We were often the only customers having an evening drink. Otherwise everything was fine. The breakfast was very good with a varied choice of both Western & Asian dishes. The Porridge was delicious. We would recommend the hotel tailor for an excellent service and value for money."
