"Hotel is good but far from the city center. Because in Malaysia the taxi drivers do not know what a taximeter is, this is a big disadvantage of this four star hotel. Staff have to learn professionalism, though. They are too friendly!!!"

"While our stay has been reasonably comfortable and pleaseant, service level is an issue for the following reasons: 1. housekeeping is not very professional. We have to request for towels on our first day, as well as for kettle which was not provided. On second day, we had still a need to ask for towels, despite the fact the room was tidied up already, when we went back to bath. 2. On our 1st night, we were rudely disturbed by some noises at our door, past mid-night. My wife had to wake up me to look into them. On opening, we discovered a maintenance guy with a Japanese gentleman, apparently trying to unscrew the lock of our door. They apologised when we open the door. The Japanese guest tried to expalin that there was an apparent double booking for the room we stayed in - ours and his. We didn't report this to the reception. 3. Breakfast items were not fully set out consistently over our stay. While the menu items were standard, some items were missing and only when we requested for them, did the waitress went int to get them."

"The hotel is a 4* (not 5). Despite checking in at 3pm I was asked to wait 30mins as the room was not ready. The furniture in the room was very old and warn. The bathroom fixtures were rusty and falling apart. There was only one towel given in the bathroom. The room smelt very dusty and damp. There was little choice available for breakfast. Service was slow. "

"We checked in on 5th June and found that the aircond was not working properly. We made several complaints until late evening and they moved us to a new room and still the aircond was a problem. However the room was clean and the bathroom was also ok. One thing good is the location is accessible easily with public transport and the food is also ok with a reasonable price."

"Rooms generally old and not well kept: Peeling wall paper, mildew, chipped and stained tiles for the bathrooms, room safes not working. One of the rooms not made up on-time: Had to remind housekeeping at least 3 times. BUT staff generally courteous and obliging. Very helpful when it comes to getting directions and recommendations. "

"The hotel room services is very bad. Every day we have to ask for bathroom towels and it takes an hour to send. When ask the staff why they take so long he can answer you they are busy. Will not recommend friends to stay at this hotel."

"The Hotel room condition is no good and especially the room services. The hotel room door was heavy and hard to close.Wardrode door faulty and producing squeaking sound whenever you open the door. Day 1, only 2 bathroom towels and no other towels. Day 2, back to hotel at 11pm and no bathroom towels. Had to make several calls to get the towels which takes an hour. Day 3, back to hotel around 10pm and was only given one bathroom towel. As the staff were distributing the towels at this hour, we ask for another 2 more but was only given one as the other is reseved for another guest. We are very disappointed with such poor facility and services provided by the hotel. "

"This is not a ' good ' hotel, in terms of service and facilities. A number of bad experiences to share. Firstly, we booked the room for one day 24/3/2007. When we was going to check in at 3.30p.m. The room was not ready. Secondly, many of metals in bath room is rusty and the TV's condition is not good. Thirdly, we lived in 12 floor, and we waited for about 10 mins lift, very frustrated. regards TEI KM"

"I was dissaponted at the lack of service upon arrival. My room was not ready and I had to wait nearly 2 hours before it was allocated. It was necessary to complain to the management before firm action was taken. In the end I was given a free evening meal while waiting and then my room was upgraded to a suite so I was happy in the end. During my stay many people where told while checking in that there rooms were not ready. In the end I enjoyed my stay there and would go there again as it is a good location and the staff are friendly."

"A very nice hotel with good size rooms. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of food. Adjacent to the hotel is a shopping centre with several cheap eating places. We found, however, that it was a difficult walk to the centre of Penang because of the traffic conditions and we had to take a taxi. The price of the taxi ride varied considerably."
