| "The beach at the Holiday Inn, Penang is very small but this does not stop a wide variety of jetski, paragliding, horseriding and beach buggy operators from plying their trade. This makes the beach very unsafe for children who just want to sit on the sand with their bucket and spade. Also, there is no zoned safe area for swimming so the threat of being hit by a jetski is omnipresent. All this means that 99.99% of the children play in the swimming pool which makes it very crowded at most times. I am a parent so I was fine with this. Couples and seniors may find it a complete nightmare.
The best thing about this hotel is the staff who show genuine and heartfelt hospitality at all times. They are a credit to their employers.
The hotel itself is okay and absolutely fine for a family holiday with lots to do in the immediate area and further afield. Speaking of which, do not miss the Botanic Gardens – a great setting for gentle strolls with lots of winding paths for the young ones to explore. Really great!" |

| "me and my family had a wonderfull stay at this hotel and this was my 3rd stay with them, i recomend all travellers to penang to stay at this hotel.
the only thing that i didnt like was in the bathroom where they didn't have spray water hose near the WC which made it inconvenient for muslim guests, i hope this will be fixed in all the rooms soon." |

| "The staff was good, upgrade to a seaview room. There is no bellboy to assist in the luggage upon arrival. I only realise the hotel have 2 buildings when i reach there, one across the street of the other.
Overall a pleasant and satisfied stay at the holiday inn, only thing is make me walk back and fro to get my reservation letter to confirm my booking is bed and BREAKFAST. Believe the receptionist did not key that in during the registration. " |

| "Location was fantastic and water sports great, but I felt the hotel to be quite average.
Service was a little slow, staff seemed not particularly attentive and the room/bathroom was mediocre.
The best thing about this hotel is the location, which is spot on, so if you can get a competitive price, then it's worth a shot." |

| "The hotel was great we stayed on the tower side and had a lovely room with balcony but the food at breakfast was terrible but hey toast and coffee sets you up for the day. The staff were all great especially the room staff who came twice a day with towels/water/sundries and nothing was too much trouble.
I had reservations when we arrived after some poor reviews but they were unfounded. Location is ok nice stroll to the hawkers market where food is excellent.
Staff in reception always polite and helpful, restaurant staff especially Aldi very helpful and Tina was great and greeted everyone personally they soon got used to your name.
I feel the poor reviews were unfounded and from people with expectations higher than their wallets as you get what you pay for. On price the cost of atying before the 6th Jan was double that to being there after we were there for 3 weeks so paid both the higher and lower price and got nothing different so this is a gripe but nothing else.
Good hotel, pleasant staff, excellent service. Good relaxing time was had" |

| "The hotel is situated in Batu Ferringhi which is on the beach. I stayed in the Tower Building which is just as nice as the Beach Building. Rooms are spacious and very very clean. Bathroom is big and very clean. Service is very good and very friendly. The best thing about this hotel is its convenient to everything - food stalls, restaurants, and especially the night market. Night market starts in front of this hotel. Pool was average, good enough and breakfast was average. Lots of dry cleaning service outside this hotel. If u stay in Batu Ferringhi, u really dont have to go to the city (which is not far but have to take a taxi there) as its got everything there. Night life here is good due to night market and restaurants. Value for money and also all rooms have double beds. Its worth staying in this hotel." |

| "The bathroom kept having the flushing sound the whole day. I suspect the internal flushing system is faulty." |
