Probably not
The best thing about this hotel is the view - the floor-length windows of our 32nd floor room afford an unobstructed view of the sea! The next best thing is the size of its rooms, but perhaps it's not fair to compare the size of a suite with the size of a normal hotel room. The suite had a foyer, a living area, a separate bedroom, a toilet(without shower or bath) and a master bathroom (complete with jacuzzi, separate shower and 2-basin vanity top). The suite is well-equipped for the business traveller, complete with a fax machine. However, the overall decor did not in my mind live up to the luxurious standards one would expect from a 4 or 5-star hotel. The furniture and toiletries were pretty basic, though not bad. The receptionist who attended to my check-in was not particularly friendly - hardly smiled and no eye contact. The breakfast was (like the decor) decent but nothing to shout about. Overall, however, what makes the Northam All Suite a value-for-money place is mainly its rooms.

"The hotel is a Very good place for businessmen to stay and meet. Nice big spacious rooms. The need to provide wireless internet in the rooms. "

"We've stayed there twice with our little girl - she in fact took her first steps in the lobby! The staff is friendly and we enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Room service, however, is disappointing. It is well worth to cross the street and enjoy food at the hawker centre by the sea instead. The pool is extremely nice and the view wonderful. The gym equipment needs maintenance and on both occasions we did not have movie channels. "

"When we reacht the hotel we has were served quickly and check into the room. The room faces the sea and its was GREAT. The room was clean and i will definately stay here again."

"My wife and I booked into the room for 10 nights using asiarooms.com. The room was large. The roof top pool is not on the roof, but on top of the 8th floor, and it doesn’t get much sun. One of the towels the pool staff gave us had a six inch hole in it. The room was old and dirty. The two tv’s in the room were small and crappy. My wife found a foot print on the underside of the pillow and that was the last straw. I called the asiarooms.com rep, to see what she could do for us. Within five minutes the Service manager was at the room door. He asked why we wanted to leave. So I told him. He had another room cleaned and moved us to it. It still didn’t change much. We left the next day to stay at the ParkRoyal on the beach. This is a business hotel and not a resort hotel. If you have to stay in George Town on business it would be an okay place to stay. If you are looking for a clean resort in Penang try the ParkRoyal. It has been renovated recently. "
