"we were honeymooners and were well looked after upon arrival - we were upgraded to a delux seaview with a terrace garden overlooking the sea and pool/facilities were excellent & clean, staff were very friendly/ however the bar charged extortionate prices for drink and we didnt use either it or the restaurant as there were better choices outside the hotels in the area. the snack bar was pricey also but the portions were huge. penang itself was pricey and the weather not as good as langkawi (were we arrived from and spend 10 days previous) "

"Our room was amazing. We booked a Deluxe Sea View Room and got much more than we expected. We had two bathrooms, a seperate lounge room and two plasmas and a dvd player. We had a view of the beach, the balcony was great wit a table setting and lounger. We also got a complimentry newspaper every morning and breakfast in the bistro. The room standard reminds me of the Hilton in Sydney, 100% 5 star. Bathrooms where super clean and the shower lovely. Bed was comfy and firm. Staff were extreamly friendly and helpful. The food at the resturants was great. The staff orgnised a dinner on the beach for my birthday. The 3 course meal was value for money and included a good bottle of wine. We had a private waiter and they gave me a birthday cake and flowers free of charge. They waiter went and got the band to sing me a special happy birhtday. Location is right on Batu Ferengi Beach. The night market is right out the front of the hotel. Would recommend to everyone. "

"As we have a baby of 5 months old we needed a good, clean and safe place to stay. We were picked up from the airport in a good car and the driver drove safely. The staff was very friendly. They loved our baby boy! We had some minor things to be fixed in our room. Within 10 minutes there was somebody and within an hour everything was fixed. Breakfast Buffet was good. Enough of everything. We also had a great dinner in the hotel restaurant while a sitter was with our son. Only in the weekend you could here the music from the bar in your room. "

"The Hotel is good, but the service was very bad, when I arrived the bathroom was not working, we waitted long time to send someone to fix the bathroom, The staff work in the hotel are not trained well in how to provide good service for the customers, aslo the staff who were working in the restaurant were not polite, I think they need to get some training in customer service and hospitality. Regards,"

"We stayed in Parkroyal for 5 nights in March. It was our 1st visit to Penang and we probably wont go back as we have been to many other Asian countries that were way better. In saying that Parkroyal was ok. The facilities were good. we had 2 children with us (16 &12) and they liked the pool area. There were renovations happening on our floor which was a bit inconvenient. Luckily we were on the other side of the mosque so we werent woken up. The night markets are right outside the hotel which was great. We would eat in the food centre which was nice and cheap and the food was pretty good. I think the parkroyal was way too much money for what we've gotten elsewhere."

"Great hotel in great location. Stayed in side seaview room which was definitely worth the money. Great view overlooking pool and beach from deck. Clean, modern bedroom and bathroom, lovely pool. Very handy to night markets. Handy convenience store directly across road for drnks, snacks, washing, phone cards etc. Beautiful breakfast although other food and drinks at hotel are very expensive. Recommend Mario's (Italian) for dinner and also Jewel of the North (Indian). For cheapest taxi ask for James (tall Indian man) who is usually parked on street just outside hotel."

"there are a lot of lizards near the room."

"Nice big hotel, clean and good service, but built about 25 years ago which shows despite renovations. Rooms are o.k., food good but on the more expensice side. If you are willing to walk for app. five minutes, you get the same meals for a fraction of the money. Breakfast buffet, which was included in room rate, had a lot of choices though and was delicious. Pool wonderful, beautifully landscaped tropical gardens, plenty of space for everybody."

"Great location on Ferrengghi Beach, but the hotel is looking a bit tired. It could do with a refurbishment in some places of the rooms especially. We had a good size side sea view room, but the air-con was very noisy and the furniture was a bit old and battered. Not very good vlaue for money for the price we paid - especially when compared to the same chain used in KL."
