| "We had booked through Asia Rooms which was fine, but what we didn't realise until we got there was that the hillview room is right on the main road. When we got there and saw the room we asked if we could upgrade (about 11pm when our flight arrived). We were told by the lady on reception that there were no rooms available to upgrade to.
We spent a completely sleepless night in the hillview room - the traffic noise is really really bad, it sounds like you are at a truck stop or a motorcycle speedway!
The next morning we spoke to the manager and he amazingly "found" a room for us to upgrade to (this was only 7.30am so it would have been available 8 hour previously). We paid to upgrade to a seaview room and didn't regret it for a minute. The view is fantasic of the ocean and the pool and there is no traffic noise. The only noise was from a couple of hundred children that were staying there the same weekend as us and ran up and down the hallways from 6am each day.
The pool is great but if you want food or a drink while you are near the pool you must go and search a staff member out.
It's in a fantastic location on the sand. Would recommend a seaview room but definitely not a hillview room!" |

| "We just went there on Oct. 19th-Oct. 22nd, we are a family of 2 adults & 2 kids (age 12-7). We booked the Seaview Junior suite + the extra bed, so we can have more space for 4 people. The room is very simple but as was mentioned before in another review that for the price that we paid ($107+ABF), it's no complain at all, the room & the bed are clean daily. The lobby is very nice looking now. The staffs in any departments were fantastic, very helpful. The staffs at the pool even taught our kids to play some games there. Only one thing that we are not really enjoy, was the food at the restaurant, which were not really yummy and quite pricey. So, we drove out to have dinner outside every night. The beach is nice, but we coudn't swim as we were scared from many type of jell fish in the sea." |

| "What is most outstanding about this hotel is the extremely friendly and efficient service. Five stars. No task was too big and they were very good with the children. Although somethings were a little run down, the location on the beach was great, the rooms ok, the swimming pool great and the added extras like the kids club was wonderful. The beach was very quiet .There were no jet skis or load motor boats like the ones at Batu Fattingi. It was very pleasant. For a mid range traveller and or family, this place is perfect. Its in between georgetown and BF and although there is not alot around ( shops and restaurants), it was easy access to public transport and a very easy ride into town. Thanks" |

| "Lovely, small beach outside (for Penang) with plenty of fresh air flowing through the newly refurbished lobby. Good location if you like being between George Town and Batu Ferringhi, however not near either so rather isolated near a busy road. Go for a beach view room as views stunning and road side noisy.
Rooms very shabby and dated hence be warned that this is no luxury hotel, however very clean with good showers.
Check in Front of House manager was very rude to me when I made a small request - no sense of customer service here. Felt like someone to be processes in and out rather than a welcome guest. More junior staff pleasant.
I would stay again owing to the views and good value for money, although not somewhere for romance. A packed and noisy at weekends." |
