"This is a marvellous place, a large riad, but we stayed there in January when the main part of the building was cold. However this was more than made up for by the warmth of the welcome we received, the upgrade without supplement to a suite with electric heating and the nice breakfast. The breakfast was served in a separate room with a roaring open fire. You need transport to stay here and we were travelling in our own car which was guarded overnight by a night watchman in the carpark in front of the hotel.
A lot of money has been spent on the Damonte Villa and we slept in a four poster bed in a beautifully decorated suite. It retains the atmosphere of the Arabian Nights. The inconvenience of being out of town is well rewarded by the stay here. There is a big swimming pool at the back of the hotel, but it was empty when we were there and upgrade work was being made to it."
