| "We stayed at the Rembrandt on April 29, 2008. The hotel is in a great location on one of the main boulevards, close to the port and to the medina, but the traffic is quite busy and the air is full of diesel fumes. The hotel looks nice inside, with large lobby and decorated in local style hallways, although a little tired. We got a room on the first floor which was marvelous - big, nicely decorated with carpets on the walls, great new bathroom ... and some strange unpleasant odour. So we changed it. The second one was by far not that nice - TV and half of the lamps were not working, bathroom was mediocre, and there was dust on the furniture, but no smell, so we spent the night there. There is a pool, the staff is friendly, but beware what room you will get!" |

| "Stayed for 4 nights with my wife this September. Overall impression is VERY good! Even higher than I expected. The location is just fantastic (5 minutes by walk to medina; close to the port as well, it's worth seeing; many restaurants and coffee shops are nearby; 5-7 minutes ride to the railway station). Service is good, though not very fast, which is typical for Morocco; stuff speaks fluent English (but not so good as French, anyway). The stuff was sincere in eagerness to help.
Air conditioner worked perfectly, but there was no hair dryer, so take your own with you.
Breakfast (included) was not manifold, but still fairly good.
Please notice, my ratings are high, but still it's 3 star hotel, and I tried to be fair :-) What I really appreciate, the place has it's unique SPIRIT, which is rare nowadays :-) It's hard to explain, but the hotel is like Tangier itself, the city which I fell in love with :-)
Fantastic value for money ($78 per night for standard double).
BTW, our room was facing the street and it was real fun to watch some city scenes, especially in the evenings, though a little bit noisy :-)
May be minus for somebody, the pool was so cold, that it was impossible to swim there. IMHO, not minus at all, as while staying in Tangier, you have chance to visit cape Spartel, which is real experience! The ocean was cold, but it was possible to swim, if not long :-) Anyway, you SHOULD see a sunset there!!!
Good luck in Tangier and Rembrandt Hotel!
