I book the hotel as I need to sent my son to the Melbourne U to start his first year there, the location is good, everything was fine except that they charge every thing from using the internet to the mini safe box in the room, the checking-in receptionist was very helpful but unfortunately the check-out receptionist was not, I did not know the checkout time is 11am, my flight was at 5pm and I book the Jetbus at 2pm to pick me from the hotel, I rememember requesting for late checkout but the receptionist say I did not mention that and due to the delay as I was at the checkout counter at 1.30pm, she says that I have to pay for the panalty for late checkout as the cleaning staff has only 30mins to clean up the room, I ask her is it possible for her to waive it since I have request for the extention but someone may not have enter into the log and no one mention to me that the check out time is 11am, she say no, and I have to pay $20 panalty, I have actually filled in the membership to the hotel chain, so I ask her will she consider to waive this time since I will most likely to come visiting Melboune very often and the hotel is quite convenience for me to stay and I will be like to enrol as the club member, she was not friendly and insist that no way she will waive this charge, I told if she does not value me as a customer, go ahead to charge it and I tore the membership form infront of her, the $20 panalty is not going to help the hotel on the bottom line but it make a unhappy customer who will likely to start in the hotel in future if the service is better.
