Clean and nice environment, spartan room
The hotel has a nice layout. Clean and nice environment. Good for family and friends. Room a bit spartan. Bed is simple, no luxury. Breakfast is quite good. A bit pricey. Overall had a nice stay. Will consider returning.

Second time in Pertiwi Resort
This is our second stay in Pertiwi Resort. Last year we also stayed here. The location of Pertiwi is perfect. It is next to everyting you need. Like little restaurants, monkey forest, the palace and it is also nice to shop here. Pertiwi Resort is under construction at the moment and this renovation is ready in November this year. They gave us a room in the back, so we did not have any noise from the builders. After the renovation is done there is a new swimming pool and also new appartement rooms. The staff is very kind en helpful.

I had booked a deluxe room which...
I had booked a deluxe room which was disappointing. Old and tired but it had tv and mini bar. There was building work and it was noisy so I complained (politely)and was upgraded to a villa which was absolutely wonderful. Private, quiet and with its own plunge pool. My room ratings are for the villa, not the room. It's quite an expensive hotel and I did expect more from my original room.
I recommend this hotel for people who don't mind lots of steps as it is a very long way to get to the restaurant or road from the villas. Breakfast is not buffet but is very good. Hotel location is fabulous and there are lots of places to eat (some with live music)all around. Staff is helpful but not around a lot. Gardens are beautiful, as is the main pool. The new buildings should be finished 2011 but check if building is complete before booking.

Couldn't relax in our room at all,...
Couldn't relax in our room at all, stayed outdoors as much as possible. Old style barn door was weathered and did not close properly. Bathroom was terrible. Kept finding animal droppings of some sort on our bed. Linen did not smell clean. Was hard to sleep at night due to birds etc in the thatched roof. Breakfast was extremely basic and served cold. The hotel was under renovations which we were aware of at time of booking, but they said no ammenties were going to be affected, however the pool at the front of the resort was being completely rebuilt and we listened to the sound of construction from 8am to 5pm. There was a small pool at the end of the resort which is unfortunately the only highlight of the resort, and even then the sun lounges were old and broken and covered in ants. I'm an avid travellor and have stayed in hostels that are more appealing then the Pertiwi.

It was good that we shared the veranda (201 & 202) as a kind of a living room, because we stayed with the couple of my friend.
Also it will be good that a family can swim in a different swimming pool.

Our rooms was spacious and there were all the needed furniture. The hotel area is peacuful and garden around is well taken care of. Breakfast was ok, nothing special but all needed stuff like coffee, bread, juices, pancakes and fruits were available. Also hotel staff were polite and friendly.
