Our welcoming to the royal hotel was not that welcoming firstly transported was not provided from our hotel to get there , alot of hotels in Bali Provide free transport from airport or from another hotel but this was not a major just something that stood out. Then on arrival we had booked 2 rooms and were quoted a price for 2 adults and 1 child Per room, I had printed out my booking confirmation from Asia.com and presented to the hotel when they started staying there was an extra charge for the children, I had especially checked this out before as I know when booking thru agents these kind of things always happen but I had it in writing. They did not handle it in the Bali style I had grown accustomed to, and put up a big fight saying they would have to contact the agent the next day a d check with them andcthen would charge us appropriately. My husband told them they can do what they want but that we were not paying a cent more then we were quoted and if the agent has made a mistake the hotel must carry the loss and not us, they choose to use Asia.com and it's not our problem. Anyway they didn't charge us but made a big fuss to put extra beds in the room and it just really left a bad taste. We had 2 rooms my parents room was fine our was very poor and dark , there wasn't a wall btw the bathroom and bedroom just a wooden blind so every time som eone went to the toilet the whole room stunk, then to add to it the toilet got blocked. They did offer for us to move to another room which we did for 1 night. Despite all this it's a great hotel. Good location and grounds and we had an amazing time. I would stay again but only in the villas not in the hotel rooms. We stayed at 3 hotels in Bali and as far as service and attitude of staff this was the worst but probably cause it's seminyak and busy etc etc, it's like from country to city people and attitudes change.,
