Booked and paid through asiarooms.com without any problems. Check in was painless and quick. Pleasant front line staff and had a welcome drink. Individual villas with a pleasant walkway surrounded by trees and chirping of birds. Elevated swimming pool.
The villa was clean and comfortable. But most of the space in the room was taken up by the king sized bed. Not much room left to put your belongings. Kitchen was available. Shower was an open-air concept popular around bali and there was also a large bathtub. Mosquitoes were the main problem although there was a mosuito net over the bed - which didnt really help much. The plug in mosquito repellent was not working. Flat screen TV and DVD player in room was okay. Wifi was reasonably good but had frequent downtime.
Popular food and drinking spots around, with breeze @ samaya ~200 metres away and kudeta a further 200 metres away. Hu'u bar nearby.
Breakfast was unimpressive with a rather limited offering. Expected slightly better.
Overall, not much to complain about except the food and mosquitoes.

We have already been there last year
the staff is very friendly and helpfull
we were far away from the spa which was under renovation, therefore we had a very quite place.
We rented a motorbike to ride up to the beach every morning and down town in the evening,

Putu bali overall is a great stay...
Putu bali overall is a great stay & escape from busy road.I feel like staying in a mini style private villa with small garden just separated by a sliding door, small kitchen & bar counter. I like the outdoor bathroom most, it`s like showering in the nature but the water a bit small, compare to other villa & some ants which i feel quite irritating. This resort surrounded by great famous & super yummy restaurant. Must try the bebek bali just a few steps away. The Putu Bali massage also is a must , u will feel really relaxed after the massage. It`s price really worth the massage & service value but don`t expect high ambience.Breakfast overall is quite simple & tasty. I will come back again.

Don't be put off by the reception area which is a bit shabby looking. This was really pretty bungalow-style accomodation. The showers were outdoors with flowers overhead which was lovely. The pool was small but in a nice setting and had a bar at one end. Rooms were a decent size and very clean. The breakfast was only so-so but the eating area had nice rooftop views. Laundry service was reasonably priced as were the car services we arranged. Aside from the location being maybe 10 min from the beach this was a nice option and I'd stay there again.

I have to say I am very very disappointed in what Putu Bali has become over the last couple of years. I was there the first time in 2006 and was absolutelye thrilled. It was good value for money, the staff were adoring, the location is good and we were very well looked after. I have been very actively recommending it to all my friends as well. Now, 2 years later - I came back, and I will surely not come back ever again, unless something drastically changes - the rooms still have not been updated, we pait over 120 USD per night for a very old family villa - per night! The sheets were grey, the towls as wel, there was rust everywhere in the bathroom. And the service - was non-existent! They were only interested in our money, we really felt ripped off - and even quoted us a wrong exchange rate - to their benefit - at one point! The could speak very little to no English, did not know, how to handle our requests - its not like we had a lot. The Internet cost 3 USD for 30 minutes usage of a very old and slow machine. And the epitomy - I was informed by a very nice couple who were staying there at the same time - that one of the staff was playing Peeping Tom, while I was in the bathroom!!! I really do not recommed this place to anyone - unless you want to buy the property and turn it into something decent again! My recommendation to the current owner - DO SOMETHING AND QUICK - we were not the only disgruntled guests at the time, we only heard negative feedback from other as well.

This isn't a bad hotel but I won't be going back. I've been to Bali many times and stayed in a variety of places. So far as this particular location is concerned (about 10 minute drive out of the main Seminyak area) I think it is probably ok in high season when there are lots of people around to fill up the bars and cafes. The photos on the web site make Putu Bali Villas look better than it actually is.

Service was non-existent. Occupation was very low (30-40%) when we were there yet the staff was very inflexible and refused to give us any extension to the 12pm check-out time.

The service was non-existent and the staff, though friendly, just did not seem ready to do anything more for the guests. The staff did not speak much english was of no help to us in trying to get around Bali.
We requested to have a late check-out but was told that was not possible and we had to leave at 12pm (with probably 30% occupancy rate). Totally inflexible. There are definitely better value in other hotels around the area for the price.
Will definitely not recommend the Putu Villa & Spa and will definitely not be going back.

The hotel was very nice. Overall we were very happy with our stay. The staff were friendly and courteous.
The area is quiet, the rooms are clean. The bathtub in our room was a bit aged, but overall the quality of the room was very good, especially considering the price.
The included breakfast was very basic, but gives you a start to the day.
We also took advantage of the spa facility and it was great. The prices were very competitive, especially compared to other resorts we have stayed at in Bali.
If we were to brave the busy'ness' of the area again, we would stay at Putu Bali again...
